Game Background
Operation:Onslaught was created using the object-oriented programming language ActionScript 3, which is Flash-based technology.
Gameplay
The campaign missions are split up into four sections: Deadly Marsh, Ravenous Badlands, Ferocious Tundra, and Eternal Hive. There are 4 stages for the first three sections. Each stage has a number of credits that can be earned upon completion of that stage.
In each stage, your goal is to destroy all of the enemies before they destroy you. The orientation of the game is from a bird's eye view perspective looking down on your avatar. Enemies will appear from all sides of the screen. Use WASD buttons to maneuver your virtual character. Use the mouse to aim and fire at approaching enemies.
Some enemies will drop items that can be picked up for use. Items include new weapons. Weapons can be accessed by pressing the corresponding number that appears next to the weapon's image that can be found at the top left hand side of the screen. You can also pick up poison grenades that can be tossed using the Spacebar. Getting damaged will cause blood to fill up the screen. Filling the entire screen means you have lost the game.
There are a total of 13 campaign missions that can be played, as well as a number of secret missions that can be unlocked. There are also over 9 different weapons and over 30 different types of enemies.
The different types of weapons include:
-Automatic
-Laser
-Shotgun
-Compact Bow
-Flamethrower
-Scatter Missile
-Rocket Launcher
-Flash Bang
-Poison Grenade
-Mine
In the in-game shop, you can upgrade or add ammunition to all of the different types of weapons. You can also increase the level of your armor as well as a force field and your speed.
Complete all of the stages and unlock more levels to complete the entire game.
