OPI Holiday 2010 Burlesque Collection

12 Shimmers and Glitters Highlight the OPI 2010 Holiday Collection

Jessie Kay
OPI's Holiday 2010 collection introduces unconventional holiday colors to its gallery of nail polish colors. Why unconventional? OPI's Holiday 2010 collection is the "Burlesque" collection. Think glittery bright colors and glittering metallic colors. You might be thinking, "Is this an OPI Alice in Wonderland collection redux?" The answer? No! These colors are completely different. The collection features 12 new OPI nail polish colors that remind you of a Las Vegas showgirl or the Molin Rouge movie. In fact, the OPI Holiday 2010 Burlesque collection is based on the upcoming Christina Aguilera movie, "Burlesque."

I think this is my favorite OPI collection yet. I'm lucky, I recently got to see the new OPI 2010 Holiday Burlesque collection several months before it debuts. Now, normally, I'm not a fan of every single color in a collection OPI puts out. Usually, there's a few duds in the collection and a lot of red. OPI is ruthless when it comes to putting "new" reds out. Fortunately, there are no reds in the 2010 OPI Holiday collection.

But the 2010 Burlesques collection? There's not a dud in the bunch! If you like unique colors, sparkles and glitter, you're going to love this collection. For the five glitter colors, the amount of glitter is almost overwhelming. If you like glitter (like I do!), you're probably going to love these colors. Unfortunately, it's going to be a pain to remove when you need to take the nail polish off.

OPI Take the Stage: This is a darker orange metallic shimmer color.

OPI Bring on the Bling: This is a gold glittery color.

OPI Simmer and Shimmer: It's a teal glitter.

OPI Extra-Va-Vaganza: Looks like a rust-colored glitter.

OPI Rising Star: A shimmering, luxe gold with an orange tint.

OPI Ali's Big Break: A shimmery red color. It looks like a bright cherry tomato red with a lot of sparkle. Love it!

OPI Teasy Does It: This is a maroon/burgundy metallic color. It reminds me of a shimmery Lincoln Park After Dark-and I LOVE Lincoln Park After Dark!

OPI Glow Up Already!: A pea green glitter. Sounds ugly on paper, but I love it! It's a perfect Christmas color.

OPI Let Me Entertain You: This is a dark pink shimmery metallic color.

OPI The Show Must Go On: This color is a deep, dark pink shimmer.

OPI Show It and Glow It: Oooh---purple glitter! It reminds me of Funky Dunky from the Shrek collection, only with glitter.

OPI Sparkle-iscious: A dark rainbow/multi-colored glitter. This is not a glitter topcoat; it's a full-on nail color.

I think ALL of these colors are calling my name!

When does the OPI Holiday 2010 Burlesque collection debut in stores?
No word yet, but my guess is that it will be available mid- to late September. Keep your eyes peeled! When you see the collection arrive in the stores, don't wait to buy your favorite colors! OPI's holiday collection traditionally sell out quickly.
