In typical OPI fashion, there is a new line out named of course after a movie. This time it is in honor of the Disney movie "Pirates of the Carribean '" On Stranger Tides". This collection is unique but perhaps what gives it the true pirate spirit is the silver shatter that you can polish over the color for a broken glass look with a silver and whichever color you choose background.
You can "Try It On" on OPI's website to do so click here. Some of the colors that OPI would like to see you use underneath are:
Mermaid's Tears
This color is a slightly darker than normal sea foam green. It is one of those colors for those who like adventurous nails. For those that prefer something a bit more traditional this is not the color for you.
Stranger Tides
Stranger Tides is a cross between a sage green and dark beige. It is a unique color and somewhat more tame than the Mermaid's Tears.
Planks A Lot
This color is purple. Somewhere between lilac and a deeper purple. Even if purple is not normally your thing this color is pretty and perfect for summer.
Sparrow Me The Drama
This pink is more subtle than a hot pink but deeper than a French manicure pink. It is pretty but not necessarily anything special.
Steady As A Rose
Another pink, this one is lighter than "Sparrow Me the Drama" and a bit lighter and fresher. It is a pretty natural that is perfect is you like subtle yet memorable nails.
Skulls & Glossbones
This is perhaps my favorite color of the bunch. It is a light gray which is not only pretty but also very stylish at the moment. Many in the industry are coming out with light gray's and OPI is no exception. A different type of neutral this is a key spring/summer color.
Overall, this collection is nothing special. The shatter that OPI is now using is cool for some but for those of us that like a more traditional professional look shatter is not the way to go. It is fun and unique though for those looking for a change. Whatever you nail color, be sure to have fun with it and enjoy it. It is you that has to look at your nails everyday after all.
