Opportunity to See Heaven

How did Easter change to forget Jesus Christ
Pastels colored flowers on display are nice
Though temples are filled with praising and delight
After the feast hearts are far from contrite

Who can say what Easter really stands for
Few celebrate the true meaning anymore
Commercial inferences reign supreme once more
Baskets and chocolates are what we crave for

We overlook that Jesus rose from the dead
To save the souls of the generations ahead
So what do we teach our children instead
Is merriment upon discovery of a hidden purple egg

Easter aims to commemorate Resurrection Day
When Jesus fulfilled the promise to rise in three days
To demonstrate God's glory in a miraculous way
And to give us opportunity to see heaven one day
