Since releasing their debut 5-track E.P. Blind Spot in 2010, listeners have been captivated with Rock group Opposite the Satellite's intense and melodic music along with their energetic live performances. Since forming in 2000, brothers Andrew (Guitar) and Joseph Bloomquest (Vocals, Guitar), Mitchell Ball (Bass), and Todd Burton (Drums) have showcased extraordinary talents through their own diverse and authentic musical styles. Recommended tracks on Blind Spot include "Low" and "Synopsis".

Throughout the track "Low", Joseph Bloomquest's vocals are reminiscent of 90's Rock group Staind's lead vocalist Aaron Lewis. Throughout the song, Bloomquest delivers an emotional and powerful vocal range while singing lyrics of overcoming dark thoughts of death and suffering. The lyrics, "...it's capillary blood-let/It's stranger then all we know/I don't know just how to show/The machines of the hollow haunt me/Tear me to the ground/Turn the tables on me/Find my way out.../" tell the story of a troubled individual seeking help through his darkest hours. In an interview recently conducted with UnsignedPromotions.com, Bloomquest stated he could personally relate to the lyrics on "Low". "It brought me to a place where I could forgive the lost, and ask for their patience in my life and decision making," Bloomquest continues, "while understanding that as they project onto my life they change the outcomes, but not my trajectory." The song caught many listener's attention, with the emotionally-driven lyrics of succeeding through life's darkest hours.

In the song "Synopsis", heavy instrumentation is particularly evident in the vocals along with both Joseph and Andrew Bloomquest's Guitars, demonstrating the impassioned and hidden meaning behind the song. Considered his most honest work, vocalist Joseph Bloomquest created the song while locked in his own solitary confinement. During this time, Bloomquest was able to transform his self-conscious musical identity into a life of self-acceptance and reassurance through his vocal music capabilities. The lyrics, "...we're not running away/Now our hearts are ripe tonight/No we're not running away/There's switchblades in my symphony/So stay in sight.../" detail hidden meaning as Bloomquest sings of trouble in trying to complete the formation of his band's sound.

Though songs such as "Synopsis" detail Opposite the Satellite's troubles in trying to complete the formation process, the members of the band have seen much success with the release of their debut E.P. Blind Spot. Many listeners have connected to the emotionally-driven lyrics behind each individual song. A listener's recent comments were unforgettable, to the band, as the fan stated, "You guys are amazing. Very emotionally driven music (not emo). It's intense, melodic, and passionately executed. The best thing yet...I am breathless and words currently escape me." This comment was very memorable for Andrew Bloomquest as he commented, "I think this is probably the most amazing compliment we could ever receive and we are actually left without words and deeply thankful OTS has reached someone on such an intense level."

During the beginning of 2011, Opposite the Satellite have seen a rapid increase in musical interest of fans and listeners around the Country. This sparked interest has caused the band to receive several award nominations and accolades. In February of 2011, Opposite the Satellite received the honor of being chosen as "Local Artist of the Month" by Virginia Local Music. More recently, the band also became a contender for the 2011 Los Angeles Independent Music Awards. Opposite the Satellite's highly-anticipated full-length debut album, titled The Science of Falling, is scheduled to be available for purchase in November of 2011. This album is already gaining publicity from fans and listeners, as people are anxiously waiting to hear the band deliver more noteworthy material.
