Oprah for President! And why not? Afterall, she is the most influential women in the world. Oprah Winfrey is not only somebody who everybody loves and respects, but she does not hide anything from the public, and would be a perfect choice for Commander and Chief of the United States of America.
Oprah Winfrey puts it all out on the table. And if you are not a big fan of Oprah and you find it hard to believe that any celebrity could possibly tell all of her dirty little secrets, then let me fill you in: "People love Oprah because she opens up!" It is how she became famous. She is not the most pressing interviewer with a journalism degree, and she certainly does not claim to be a political savant or politician of any kind. Oprah just asks the questions that she feels like asking, and her interviewees tend to respond because they feel comfortable with Oprah because of her openness. And even when the tables are turned and she is the one being cross-examined, Oprah has unveiled things about herself that would take a national inquisition to get out of any other celebrity. She has revealed her teenage rapes, drug-based relationships and her inner most thoughts on subjects that most celebrities stay away from. Isn't that the kind of president we all want? Somebody who we can trust and somebody who does not hide everything. Not to mention, wouldn't it be a breath of fresh air to have a president who tells us what they are truthfully and honestly thinking.
Besides Oprah Winfrey's obvious openness and willingness to share, she is caring individual. Her television show is about helping people better themselves in order to make her society, this nation, and the world a better place. If she were president, her cabinet and assistants could consist of her close connection of professionals that appear on her show on the regular basis. Oprah, along with that cabinet, could help institute programs that would shape the American society and truly make this country a better place to live. She cares about people and if she were president, she would undoubtedly display her open heart with the decisions she makes and the ideas and opinions that she fields.
There is also something to be said for a person with such monetary stature and high affluence. It cannot be denied that money has an incredibly strong influence in politics, and one thing that can be guaranteed is that Oprah will not make any decisions that would be based on her, or any of her associates, accumulating money. She has plenty of money, and she has come from a background where money was scarce, so she understands the common person's strive for monetary security and she understands what economic principles need to be instituted in order to encourage personal economic growth. And as a businesswoman who has built an empire based off of social influence, Oprah's business savvy and compilation of economic supervisors would comprise to be one of the best economic authorities in the world.
The most telling reason for Oprah Winfrey to become the next President of the United States is her personal influence. The President of the United States of America is considered to be the most powerful and influential person in the world. It would only be fitting that the most powerful and influential woman in the world hold that chair. If Oprah were to become president, she would be the most influential person to take over the oval office since George Washington was the first person to become president. Her already dominate presence in this world could be used to get a lot things done that no other person would be capable of. Her ability to get millions and billions of dollars out of companies to do her bidding could be used in saving lives, changing societies and implementing programs that other presidents have not even attempted to do. Oprah Winfrey's voice in international affairs would be prominent and potent, and the many nations in which she has intervened with and aided would be willing to cooperate with a person of her stature and her willingness to facilitate somebody besides herself.
If Oprah for President in 2008 is a bad idea, then so is sliced bread. She is dominating figure, who is both smart and successful. Her current ability to create so much change in the world now could only be exponentially multiplied to the 10th degree if given the power of the presidency. And if you agree, you can go to:

Post a CommentI just looked at my last line: "interesting and well-written"... I hope I didn't sound like Joe Biden as in "He's clean-cut, articulate, good looking....."....:)
We could do worse...er...change that to "We did worse..." Insofar as African American political leadership goes, I prefer Condaleeza Rice... Unfortunately, the liberal media is too superficial to look beyond the press clippings for real brain and leadership content. I'm not trying to be a drag on your article--it's interesting and well-written.
just threw up in my mouth a little....god help us!!! we are surrounded by idiots.
I'm for it.
No, let's not have Oprah as President. Gosh, I don't know if I can deal with her oddly elongated introductions. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to introduce my vice president... Gayle Kiiiiiiiinnnnnnnggg!!!!" I couldn't take it!
melody, knowing our country? Good lord you are as ignorant as they come... you should be a little more worried about someone from another country darling....go back to political science class
are you kidding her and obama are the anti christ, come on people
what i really want to know is where Oprah politically stands. yes shes influencial and makes a difference in the world, but what is her platform
Yes, but I have to agree she would have to say that she has an outlet where she can help now, I would hate to see her be tied down. Certainly, she is a person who would be a wonderful candidate, but she has found where she can help people the most! If Oprah does run for president imagine no more Oprah show! :(
I laughed when I read your statement that if Oprah for pres is wrong, so is sliced bread...unfortunately, if that's the case I must give up my bread slicer...granted-Oprah Dr. Phil, Socks the Cat, all would be better choices than bushie...but I just can't bring myself to support an Oprah presidency...of course, it would depend on who she ran against!
