Patricia Enters Oprah's Life
Oprah's half-sister is named Patricia. Her last name has not yet been revealed. She lives in Milwaukee, notes the Seattle Times. Patricia had known she was related to Oprah since 2007. It took her several years to get through and be able to notify Oprah.
A Surprise & a New Joy
In regard to this new family news Oprah said "I thought nothing could surprise me anymore, but let me tell you, I was wrong," notes the Chicago Tribune. Oprah did so many family reunion shows over the years. It is quite ironic that she didn't have any idea that she had a half-sister that someday she would reunite with.
Ms. Winfrey's parents were teenagers when she was born. They were not married. She grew up in various locations including Mississippi, Wisconsin and Tennessee.
Life-Changing News
Oprah's half-sister was the person who first realized the discovery that she had a sister she had never met. Oprah must have been astonished when she heard this news. She has now met Patricia. It will probably take years for her to truly get to know her half-sister that she never knew she had.
Family Secrets
How could a family keep this kind of secret? It seems quite surprising that no one told Oprah of this news long ago. Both Oprah and Patricia must have a huge sense of loss that they did not know each other while growing up. Family secrets should be brought out into the open. The longer they fester the more trouble they cause.
Oprah is lucky indeed to have found out about her half-sister. I have always wanted a sister. Anyone who doesn't have a sister is a bit jealous of Oprah today. Best wishes to Oprah and Patricia as they get to know each other and build bonds.

I am glad I didn't read this before the show was aired here at 4pm. It was a very good show and I enjoyed it.
Intriguing.
super job
What a heartwarming story. After being inundated with bad news it's nice to read about Oprah and her sister.
I wish I was Brad Pitt's long lost and much-younger brother. I could hang out at the mansion with Jolie and the kids. Thanks for clearing up Oprah's secret -- I read a few days ago that she would be revealing something.
Great article! =0)
Excellent example of putting together the tapestry of a seperated famiily.
