Oprah Winfrey's "12-Day Holiday Give-O-Way" Begins Today

Today begins the hunt for the codes for Oprah Winfrey's "12-Day Holiday Give-O-Way". With 12 prize packages featuring gifts from the "O List: Holiday Edition" highlighted in the December issue of "O" magazine the hunt is sure to be intense. The addition of a grand prize of round-trip airfare and accommodations to tapings of both "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will surely turn Oprah fans into treasure hunters.

According to Oprah.com, there will be 12 icons hidden in the pages of "O" magazine's December issue and through the official website. "12-Day Holiday Give-O-Way" hopefuls will enter the code found with the icon into the entry form on the website. At the end of the hunt, 12 winners will be chosen to receive their prize packages by Christmas. The grand prize winner will be chosen from the 12 package winners.

Package prizes include food, clothing, shoes and electronics. The most expensive item on the list is a leather rose bouquet purse from Clever Carriage Company valued at $585, followed by Tiffany & Co.'s heart locket necklace which retails for $390. The total retail value of each prize package is $4,365.

The grand prize winner will receive two trips for two to Los Angeles and Chicago to attend the tapings of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "The Oprah Winfrey Show". The trip package includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations for two nights and tickets to the shows.

While the majority of the prizes are one-size-fits all, the clothing and shoes may not fit every winner.
All of the clothing will be size Medium and the shoes will be size 8. There is no indication on the Oprah.com website if it will be possible to exchange these items for proper sizes via retailers or manufacturers.
Any monogrammed items will feature the initial "O". This monogram will be perfect for anyone with the name "Ophelia", "Olga", "Odette" or even "Oprah".

This contest will take 12 days to complete, as each code can only be entered on the appropriate day, December 1-12, 2009. There is also a specific rule stating only one entry per household and all entrants must have a valid e-mail address.

A winners list will be posted at oprah.com/12days after December 15 and all winners will be notified by December 20, 2009.
