So is there a cheaper way to get good pictures of your child? Yes, of course there is. One option is a chain studio. Chain studios such as Sears, Wal-Mart, and Olan Mills make quality photos at an affordable price. They often offer coupons and special rates during holidays. However, these photos must be taken indoors and variety is sometimes limited. One must also be careful to read the fine print of the coupons.
Package deals are usually from one pose. Additional poses are extra. Yet, if you have your mind set on a spending limit when you enter, you can walk away with good pictures for a fraction of the cost of a private studio. Many of the chain studio coupons also waiver the sitting fee so if your pictures are not good then you can walk away without any costs and try again later.
Another option that many people are going for now is making pictures themselves. Digital cameras and photos make it very easy to get good pictures on your own. Set-up a background in your home with white sheets and dress up your child. Throw in a few seasonal items and start snapping.
You can view the pictures and crop or adjust on your computer screen. Your child will likely be more comfortable in the ease of its own home and you can schedule the session around naps and bad moods. Once you get a good picture, send it off online and have it mailed to your door. You can even create wallets, eight by tens and more.
While using a private studio may offer more options and variety for your photos, it is also much more costly. I suggest using a chain studio for your periodic age pictures and using a private studio for special occasions. Either way, make sure that you get lots of pictures of your children!
