Oral Roberts dies at 91. The famous Pentecostal evangelist and University founder died on Tuesday, December 15 in Newport Beach, California. Oral Roberts was a controversial and well-known religious leader.

According to the New York Times, Oral Roberts' spokesperson Melany Ethridge indicated the cause of death was complications of pneumonia. My mom was hospitalized for two weeks with pneumonia so I know it can be very serious and potentially deadly.

Oral Roberts preached on national television and published dozens of magazines and books. He was the founder of the Oral Roberts University with the theme of unity of mind, spirit and body. Oral Roberts survived tuberculosis at age 17.
