Oh the Misery

Jennifer Bove
Along with other phobias, dentist is top of the list. In July of this year I forced myself to go, after all, found a great dentist who was kind, gentle and very effective with my son. He also is afflicted with dental problems despite the great care we take of them. Here's short silly write-out of my wonderful dental woes.

Brush my teeth when I wake,
Floss my teeth so plaque won't take.

Brush my teeth after every meal,
Gargle with the best to create a seal.

But still cavities take hold,
Boy those critters sure are bold!

Started dentist appointments back in July,
Every two weeks since-I've gone in to see my guy!

He's been working so hard to save my pearly whites,
But it sure has been a gruesome fight!

Last week, a lot of the grunt work done, his great work started to show,
All top front teeth finally capped that row!

For one day I admired the beauty,
Dr.Kabil went far above his duty.

The very next day a cap fell out,
My tooth too weak, it could not hold out.

Same thing happened a year ago to the very next tooth,
it's remnants were still below the gum in truth.

A few weeks ago during a root canal a tooth exploded,
To poor Dr. Kabil it seems my teeth are spring loaded.

This all leads me to today, off to the surgeon to have all three removed,
no matter what care you take, if you don't visit a dentist you will lose your teeth, this has been proved.

Another month or so,
My teeth I had as a teenager will show!

But please take my advice,
Don't miss your dentist, the effects are not nice!

This is brilliant! I love the bit about spring-loaded teeth almost as much as I hate going to the dentist. ;)

Growing up, my uncle was a dentist, so I was never afraid of going. Good for you for mustering up the courage to go back!

I hear you. I had several crowns put in last year and it's no fun.
