First off, when my husband saw the Oral-B Triumph toothbrush, he got this green look of jealousy on his face. Even though had always used electric toothbrushes, he never used one that was this nice and came with all the special features. The toothbrush comes with a wireless display that gives you feedback on your brushing such as if you are brushing too hard and how long you have been brushing for.
The oral-B toothbrush is very easy to set up and only took me about 5 minutes. The directions are straightforward and there are no tricky programs or settings that you have to mess with.
After charging the toothbrush for several hours, I was ready to try this new piece of equipment. The toothbrush only has two buttons, the on/off button and then the mode button, which makes it really easy to operate for newbies like me. For the mode, the wireless device will actually guide you through pictures of the different modes to know which setting you are on.
The electric toothbrush also comes with two brushheads. The pro white brushhead is for occasional polishing and the floss action is to be used for everyday cleaning. For the first brushing with my new electric toothbrush I decided to stick with the everyday floss action head.
The minute that brush hit my teeth there was an odd sensation at first, but then all of a sudden it actually felt rather nice. That is when I looked down at the display screen and noticed that I had it on the massage mode. Whoops!
I switched the mode to the clean mode and continued to brush. When I was done, I found that my teeth did feel rather clean. Having only used manual toothbrushes before, the Oral-B Triumph 9900 toothbrush did a much better job cleaning my teeth and removing the plague than my manual one ever did. I was excited but figured I would wait a few days to see how the brush continued to clean.
I used the electric toothbrush for 14 straight days for every brushing. After two weeks of using the Oral-B Triumph power toothbrush I have to say that my teeth have never felt cleaner and looked whiter. I used the same toothpaste that I have always used and actually did not have to floss every day like I had to with a manual toothbrush.
I have a part of a tooth which is actually fake and is made from cement (bad bike accident when I was younger) and I was a little hesitant about using this toothbrush on that particular tooth. I decided to switch the mode to sensitive when I came to this tooth and I have had no problems at all.
I found that not only was this electric toothbrush much better than my old manual one, but it gave me some great feedback on my brushing skills and technique. For the first few days I would get the warning that I was brushing too hard, so I knew that I needed to lighten it up. With a manual toothbrush you may never realize this and may actually harm your teeth and gums. Also, the timer was convenient as well since being a mom to two small little ones I don't always have the patience to remember how long I had been brushing.
After using the Oral-B Triumph electric toothbrush for the past two weeks I have to say that my manual toothbrush has been thrown in the garbage. I am more than satisfied with this product and actually still excited about brushing my teeth with it. Best of all, I decided that I was going to be nice to my husband and we went and bought him his own brushheads so now we can now share the toothbrush.
