Orange Citrus Centerpiece for Any Holiday

Robin Vinci
Oranges, pumpkins, grapefruits and lemons can make a beautiful centerpiece with a warm smell. This is great for a holiday centerpiece whether it be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or even Easter.

5 oranges or various

2 lemons

1 grapefruit

1 small pumpkin (optional)

2 lime

1 large glass bowl with bottom

Canella or Lino knife

Ribbons

Fresh bayleafs

You are going to use the canella knife, which a small cutting knife, I use most often when carving my pumpkin. With this you will make designs by cutting the top layer of skin of each fruit.

With the first lemon make lines around it cutting just enough skin to reveal the white underneath it.

Take an orange and make small circles by removing just a small amount of skin. With another orange make diagonal lines.

Use a third orange or a small grapefruit making X and O designs. You can make any design you wish. These are just ideas. If you know how to make hearts or bells or something related to the holiday or event you are making it for, include it.

With one orange cut the skin off completely in circles. The skin circles will be used later. Keep the orange for eating. I would also do the same thing with one lime.

If you decide to use a small pumpkin, put it on the bottom of the bowl. Put the citrus fruits cut in various designs around it. Top with skins, bayleafs and ribbons. You must be creative.

This is very pretty, easy to do and can be eaten at the end of the day. Use your creativity as each one you make will be very different.

If also can make a great gift if you are going out to a dinner party. It's a great surprise that is both pretty and sweet smelling.
