Oranges Are a Wonderful and Natural Addition to Your Beauty Routine

You've been told every since you were a kid that oranges and orange juice is good for you. Commercials always show a healthy breakfast adorned with a pitcher of a orange juice on the table. You almost certainly know that it is booming with Vitamin C. But did you know that there are many more benefits that oranges bring to the table? They're also high in citrus limonoids, which help stave off an assortment of cancers.

That's all fine and dandy, though. I mean, you knew they were healthy - right? The question here is this... Did you know that they were also extraordinarily helpful to the way you look? Yep, oranges have a variety of beauty uses that you can incorporate into your daily beauty routine, which is what I'm about to show you.

Glowing Skin

If you need a quick pick-me-up for your skin, try orange peels. You can buy orange peel powder or make your own to give naturally glowing and radiant skin. To make your own, peel your oranges and let the peels dry out in the sun. Then you can throw 'em in a blender to create a powder. Store it in an air tight container. When you want to use it, take a spoon of the powder and add some milk. You can even throw in some rose petals.

Beautiful Shiny Hair

You probably never thought about putting oranges on your hair, but that's exactly what you can do if you want to add some lustrous shine. Take pure orange juice (from the orange, not from your orange juice container that will also have sugar, preservatives and all kinds of other funk). Mix it with an equal amount of water. Stir you in a touch of honey (a teaspoon should be plenty). After you do your regular shampooing, let this mixture sit on your hair for 5-10 minutes and then rinse it out really good with warm water.

Smaller Pores and Clear Skin

Just as you use the juice from an actual orange to create a mixture for your hair, you can use the juice from an orange to help minimize the appearance of the pores on your skin. Get a cotton ball and soak it in the orange juice. Apply it to your skin where you want to reduce the look of your pores and let it sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing it off. Applying orange juice to your face helps soften your skin because of the Vitamin C in it, too. It can also act as a natural astringent, which dries out your pimples and help you keep clearer skin. So while things like Kinerase are very effective, oranges can be an additional measure you take or something to use when you're wanting an all natural alternative.

Mosquito Repellent

With the warm weather, you're probably hitting the beach or spending time at the lake. Next time, take some oranges with you! To use oranges as a natural mosquito repellent, simply use the orange peels directly on your skin. For some reason, most insects seem to hate the smell of oranges. You've been told every since you were a kid that oranges and orange juice isgood for you.
