Oregon's Bridal Veil Lakes: The Ideal Wedding Site

My husband and I have the distinction of having both of our children getting married in 2008, just two months apart from each other. This might send most parents into deep depression. Two weddings!

We joked about a double wedding. After all, imagine how convenient it would be for all the relatives. But the wedding isn't really about the relatives, it is about the bride and groom. And I always knew a double wedding would never be feasible. As close as our two children are, they are two very different people, and sharing a wedding just wouldn't work.

Fortunately, our son and daughter have become very resourceful in their plans. They both want to create special days, without spending a fortune. And I believe they just may pull it off.

Our son and future daughter-in-law are planning to have their wedding at Bridal Veil Lakes, near Portland Oregon. They both live in Portland, and we live in Arizona. I'd never been to Bridal Veil Lakes, but recently we took a trip to Portland and our son took us to the future wedding site.

It was amazing. I was so impressed with our son and his fiancé's choice, I wondered why doesn't everyone in Oregon get married at Bridal Veil Lakes?

It is located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, approximately thirty minutes east of Portland. It is a secluded setting, and those who rent the facility for an event, can have exclusive use of the area, for the entire day.

The cost is very affordable, even less on a weekday. It includes use of the two covered pavilions, tables, chairs, and barbecue. There are even canoes. And there is no reason to spend a fortune on flowers, the place is blooming with color.

Northern Oregon is known for being rainy, so I would definitely plan for a summer wedding. Yet, even if it rains, we can take shelter under the covered pavilions.

Prices range from $2,000 to $4,200, depending on the day of the event. There are also additional discounts for off season. Considering how the price includes tables and chairs, and use of the facility for the entire day, it is a terrific value.

Yet, it is not about the price. It is about the setting. Which is priceless.
