Oregon's Coastal Parks with Campgrounds

Joni
Oregon has some extremely nice parks, some with day use and others with camping and RV sites. Plus lots of fun things to do and see. However, the campgrounds seem to fill up fast, especially during holidays, so you might want to make a reservation. The Oregon Coast is always a great place to visit!!

Beverly Beach State Park - located just a short distance from the beach and approximately 1 mile north of Newport, Oregon. You will find the registration booth near the Visitors Information Center, the children's playground and a picnic area as well. The camping area has 53 RV hook-ups and areas for tents. For information only you can call (541) 265-9278 or (800) 551-6949.

South Beach State Park - located about 2 miles south of Newport, with activities available that include: beachcombing, boating, crabbing, and windsurfing. The campground areas have one group meeting hall (that can be reserved), 228 electrical hook-up sites, 27 rustic cabins, group tent areas, hiker/biker camp. For more information call (541) 867-4715 or (800) 551-6949.

Beachside State Recreational Site - located 4 miles south of Walport, Oregon. This park's campground area is just seconds away from the beach. If you're a storm watcher this would be the place to get some great views. The campground area has 32 electrical sites, 42 tents sites, and 2 reservable hiker/biker areas. For more information call (541)563-3220 (voice mail) or (800) 551-6949.

Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park - located approximately 14 miles north of Florence. This campground is not real close to the beach, there are several trails you can take to reach the sand but there are some great wildlife viewing areas along the way. Plus one trail leads to the Heceta Head Lighthouse, which is one place you won't want to miss.
The camp sites are large and spacious. All camp sites are on a first come, first serve basis. There are 56 full hook-ups, 2 electrical, 2 yurts, 7 walk-in tents, and a hiker/biker camp area. This state park is great for bird watching, picnicking, wildlife watching, historic sites, and fishing.

Honeyman Memorial State Park - located about 3 miles south of Florence off of Highway 101. This park is the second largest overnight camp in the state. The beach is approximately 2 miles from the camp area, but there are 2 natural freshwater lakes, one that is great for swimming and the other has a boat ramp, which is used for all types of water sports. The camping area has 47 full hook-ups, 121 electrical, 187 tent sites, 10 yurts, and a hiker/biker camp. This is a super nice park with a picnic area, playground for the kids, bird watching, walking trails, fishing, boating, windsurfing, swimming, and nature programs, and that's just a few of the things you can do here. For information only, call (541) 997-3641 or (800) 551-6949

Bastendorff Beach County Park -- located about 15 miles west of Coos Bay, Oregon. This campground is located on a bluff overlooking the beach, the camp sites are cozy and private and each one has its own picnic table and campfire.

Oceanside RV Park, Coast Range - is located in the southern Oregon Coast Range. There are some real nice State Parks you will want to visit, like the Redwood National Park. There is white water paddling on the Coquille River, take a walk along the beach at Barley Beach or go and play a game of golf.

Indian Creek Recreational Park, Coast Range - this campground is well cared for and has lots of local attractions and lots of outdoor recreation. While you are there you can visit Agate Beach or take a trip to the Oregon Caves National Monument.
