Organic Alcoholic Beverages

Drink and Be Healthy!

Everyone knows about organic food by now, but what about organic alcoholic beverages? Fortunately for organic enthusiasts, we now have organic wine, organic liquor, and even organic beer. There is a wide variety of each made by several different companies. Even Anheuser-Busch is getting organic with two new beers, Wild Hop lager and Stone Mill pale ale. I recommend Wolaver's certified organic oatmeal stout. It is dark and creamy, and only available for a limited time.

If wine is your thing, you're in luck, because there is a vast selection of organic wines available. If you are like me and can't afford a really expensive bottle you can get a good organic Cabernet Sauvignon at Whole Foods for around $13.99. For those of you wanting to spring for something top dollar, well, you can get that, too!

Organic liquors may be more challenging to find, but they are out there. There are several organic vodkas readily accessible, such as Rain, Liquid Ice, and Ocean. It is more difficult to locate other organic liquors. Most of these need to be imported, but they are available. With time, they will surely be lining the shelves at your local liquor store.

Most people agree, organic is better, and this is true of organic alcohol as well. Organic ingredients create a product rich in quality and good flavor. When pure ingredients are used in making an alcoholic beverage, there is actually less of a hangover. That's a major bonus, and maybe reason enough to drink organic. But don't let that prevent you from drinking responsibly!
