Organic Bean-and-Cheese Burrito Review: Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burrito
This Burrito was a Bit Pricey and Took a Long Time to Cook but I Really Enjoyed the Taste
When I got home I looked closer at the Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burrito and wondered about the nutrition facts and the ingredients. The first thing that I looked at was the amount of protein that the burrito offered, which was eleven grams and the amount of calcium that it listed, which was ten percent. I was very pleased with this. The remaining nutrition facts were three hundred calories with eighty calories from fat for the cheddar cheese burrito. There was also one gram of sugars, six grams of fiber, forty-three grams of carbohydrates and five hundred and eighty milligrams in the burrito. In the minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts vitamin A had six percent, vitamin C with eight percent and iron with fifteen percent. All in all I thought that the nutrition facts looked pretty good.
The ingredients of the Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burrito also looked really good. Organic pinto beans, organic whole wheat and wheat flour, filtered water, organic brown rice, organic tomatoes, cheddar and jack cheeses, expeller pressed high oleic safflower and/or sunflower oil, organic onions, organic bell peppers, organic sweet rice flour, sea salt, spices and organic garlic. I was a little bit disappointed to see that the cheeses used in the cheddar cheese burrito were not organic. However I was very pleased seeing so many of the ingredients organic and as I said thought that overall the listed ingredients looked really good. When I got around to tasting the burrito I thought that it tasted really good and I was glad to be eating it.
When it came to the Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burrito I have to admit that it was an item that was on sale, tasted good and was something new and fun. However I can not say that making the cheddar cheese burrito was even remotely convenient, or at least not the way that I made it. I don't have a microwave by choice. In the last few years of my life I have been offered one on three separate occasions and politely declined. I even rented a house once that had one included and I asked if they could remove it to make more counter space. For this reason I often don't even bother reading the microwave directions on foods however after reading the conventional oven directions of the Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burrito I couldn't help but take a peak.
The conventional oven cooking directions for the burrito were to cook it at three hundred and fifty degrees for fifty to fifty-five minutes. I couldn't believe this when I saw it, having to cook the burrito for almost an hour was very far from convenient. Not to mention that in the Summer this would heat up my apartment and make it very uncomfortable. Just out of curiosity I glanced at the microwave directions to see that the Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burrito only took about three minutes to heat up. For this reason I think that this burrito is going to be more convenient for microwave users. I don't regret not having a microwave and will consider the cooking time that comes with the burrito if I see it again on sale.
As for the sale of the Amy's Organic Cheddar Cheese Burrito I have to admit that it wasn't a spectacular sale. One burrito still cost me two dollars and seventy-nine cents. This is far from what it would cost me to make my own bean and cheese burrito so I think that I will probably skip this burrito the next time that I see it on sale. I am still very glad that I got it though. It inspired me to improve my own bean and cheese burritos and made me feel better about making my own. Taste wise the cheddar cheese burrito was really, really good so I recommend getting it based on that alone. However I will have to stress that if you don't have a microwave that the cooking time is going to be long and hot.
