Organic Broccoli Review: Safeway O Organic Petite Broccoli Florets

The Size of This Broccoli was Perfect and it Tasted Really, Really Good

Broccoli tends to be about the only vegetable that I get frozen over fresh. Ideally I would love to always have fresh broccoli on hand but unfortunately I can get frozen organic broccoli cheaper than fresh organic broccoli. In addition to saying on the initial cost of the broccoli I also find that I don't have to worry about eating it up, as when it is frozen it lasts for a very long time. In the past when I have gotten fresh organic broccoli I didn't always eat it up before it started to turn, thus I would not only waste money but I was also wasting food as well and neither of those things are something that I want to do. For a long time the only frozen broccoli I got was Cascadian Farms Frozen Broccoli Cuts and Broccoli Florets but I have also tried Naturally Preferred Organic Frozen Broccoli and most recently I got a bag of Safeway O Organics Frozen Organic Petite Broccoli Florets.

I happen to be in Safeway when I noticed there was frozen organic broccoli on sale, the store's organic brand, and I needed broccoli. This was not the first time that I had gotten something from the Safeway O Organics brand. Previously I had tried their Organic Whole Wheat Spaghetti, Organic Fuji Apples, Organic Braeburn Apples and even the Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment. The broccoli was on sale for two and fifty cents for a bag that contained about five cups of Safeway O Organics Frozen Organic Petite Broccoli Florets. I don't recall ever getting, or seeing for that matter, petite broccoli florets but I thought this might be really nice because I have a toddler who has to eat small pieces of broccoli. While I had the broccoli heating up on the stove I reviewed the bag to see what the nutrition facts looked like.

The reason that I could tell that the Safeway O Organics Frozen Organic Petite Broccoli Florets contained about five cups was because the nutrition facts said that the bag contained about five servings and that each serving is one cup of broccoli. In each serving there were only twenty five calories, twenty milligrams of sodium, four grams of carbohydrates, two grams of both fiber and protein and one gram of sugars. In addition the nutrition facts of this frozen organic broccoli listed in the minerals and vitamins ten percent for vitamin A, sixty percent for vitamin C and two percent for both calcium and iron. I thought that these nutrition facts looked really good. Now all I had to do was try out this broccoli and so I put some on my son's plate and on my own plate.

I thought that the Safeway O Organics Frozen Organic Petite Broccoli Florets was actually really good. My son enjoyed both the taste as well as the size. I especially liked the size of broccoli because I didn't have to worry about my son choking on it. All in all I am glad that I decided to buy this broccoli. I probably can find other organic broccoli that is frozen that it cheaper but these florets are going to be more expensive. Still, I plan on getting this broccoli from time to time, especially if it ever goes on a cheaper sale. I would recommend for anyone to give this broccoli a try. It is healthy, organic and great if you have a toddler. It is also great though if you yourself prefer smaller pieces of broccoli, which I kind of do, and don't want to get frozen organic broccoli that has any cuts in it.
