Organically grown, pesticide free meats, produce and other grocery items are definitely the way to eat in today's society. In my home state of South Carolina there are several local farmers and farmers markets where one can buy the freshest of local organically grown fruits and vegetables available.

Hub City farmers market is one of the most popular in the area. Located on John B White Sr blvd. in downtown Spartanburg, it's a constant hub of activity. Local farmers like belle farms, David Brewington, and cream of the crop co-op, which is a group of neighborhood vendors, choose hub city to display and sell there fresh, delicious produce, plants, flowers, baked goods and more, to the public. Open Saturdays 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can find everything from big, juicy oranges to large bursting tomatoes. The array of farmers fresh produce from the local vendors at hub city market is very expansive. You're guaranteed to find something to please everyone. And area vendors will almost always allow you to taste delicious samples of there available produce, vegetables, sauces and seasonings before buying. Prices can be just a bit more expensive than the average prices in local grocery stores. But the extra cost is worth the all natural pesticide free, organically grown produce, that's much better for your health and your environment.

The Anderson County farmers market in Anderson S.C. is where a large portion of Anderson vendors choose to sell there fruits and vegetables. The strictly enforced hours of operation are Saturday 9 a.m. to 12.p.m. One of the local area vendors choosing this farmers market to see there produce to the public. Is Bellew farms, who has owned and operated there own organic food farm for generations. Again, the prices are a little higher than your average grocery store. One taste of a fresh, organically grown tomato and you'll see, its definitely worth those few extra pennies.

The Columbia State farmers market in Columbia S.C. is one of the largest market squares in the Carolinas. It covers 50 acres in Columbia and has 500 stalls and 100 wholesale units. There hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. there are many local vendors who sell everything from oranges to turnips. Homemade jams and jellies to All natural organically raised meats. This farmers market is open 7 days a week. So feel free to stop in after work one afternoon and pick up some fresh organic vegetables for dinner. The farmers who contribute there organic merchandise to these markets emphasize fresh, in season, organically grown produce. The many stalls at the farmers market are filled to overflowing by the vendors and an array of there delicious foods. Growing and selling organically grown produce informs those who don't know about organically grown produce and meats. It enhances knowledge on the methods of growing and producing organically grown merchandise. There are numerous benefits to buying and selling organically grown foods, both for our health and the environment. Farma, the Farmers Retail and Markets National Association, insists on very strict standards for local farmers. Buying from farmers markets has far reaching effects on your health. Most natural methods of farming include pesticides or toxic chemicals. Much of the food that's been conventionally processed contains chemicals or unnatural components in production. organic refers to a method of growing foods that rely on the earths resources and uses beneficial insects and mechanics that doesn't pollute our air or the earth. You can buy organically grown produce at local area farmers markets, flea markets or even through organic food websites like www.foothillsmarket.com, www.straubs.com, www.albertsorganics.com, and www.hubcityfarmers.com
