Organic produce delivery has gained popularity over the years because of the many benefits of organic delivery. Apart from the usual benefits of organic food such as no pesticides and chemicals, natural fertilizers and not genetically modified, organic delivery as a service adds even more to the unique brand of organic food. In Ramona, CA, there is only one major organic produce delivery service. That is the Randol Ridge Ranch. The Randol Ridge Ranch delivers to any home within the Ramona area, of if you call in and ask nicely, they may go a little further out.

The Randol Ridge Ranch delivers any and all of its local produce. Most notably, the Randol Ridge Ranch produces amazing avocados throughout the year. But the best time to buy avocados is the in the summer, when the flesh of the avocado is the meatiest. Apart from avocados, they have a whole variety of organic vegetables and organic fruits.

Like most family run local farms, the Randol Ridge Ranch delivers organic vegetable boxes. These organic vegetable boxes contain a variety of the week's freshest produce that has been harvested on the farm. Usually, if you request for more fruit and vegetable, the organic vegetable box, now more like an organic fruit box, is actually much more worth it. Not that the price of the delivery is bad to start with. It's only $3 to have the food delivered to your doorstep. Good deal.

Green Earth Organics

If you're looking for something that the Randol Ridge Ranch doesn't have, you can probably find it at Green Earth Organics (GEO). GEO has been my favourite organic produce deliver service since before I moved to Ramona. They deliver to practically anywhere within the United States for a nominal fee.

Apart from selling organic food unit by unit (with a minimum order of $47), GEO sells them in organic vegetable boxes. Of which, the cheapest is called a Regular Harvest Box, and the most expensive and spectacular is known as the Super Harvest Box. They offer the flexibility of substituting different vegetables and fruits within your organic vegetable box for something else that you'd rather have. This, I have found, is a good way to get some good fruit.

However, one shortfall is that GEO does not supply organic dairy produce, which can only be obtained by delivery from other local producers. Alternatively, you can make a short trip down to the nearest organic food store.
