What did I find?
A yummy tasting organic brand of baby food called Earth's Best. Earth's Best was founded in 1985 by two twin brothers; Ron and Arnie Koss. They saw the need for organic baby food and started their company by making 3 fruit and 2 vegetable purees for babies. The company grew and expanded and now offers over 50 different organic products for babies, toddlers and children.
But why organic?
Not only is organic food healthier for you, but I've found that it tastes better too! Earth's Best products are produced without the use of potentially harmful synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. They also do not contain genetically engineered ingredients (GEIs). Earth's Best foods are certified USDA organic by Oregon Tilth.
Are any of them Kosher?
Except for the meat varieties, the majority of Earth's Best foods are certified Kosher.
But do they taste good?
Yes Yes and Yes! Their toddler snacks are so good they even have me sneaking bites out of the box. My favorites are the Sesame Street Organic Crunchin Crackers and the Letter of the Day Cookies. My 14 month old toddler loves the Sesame Street Sunny Day Snack Bars and the Crunchin Grahams.
What kind of products does Earth Best offer?
They make a variety of food for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and older children.
For babies they offer organic baby purees and soups in 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage jars. There is also organic formula, semolina pasta, baby cereal, juice and teething biscuits.
For toddlers, preschoolers and older children they have breakfast items, frozen meals, pasta, juice, milk, applesauce and snacks.
Ok, but aren't organic foods expensive?
Not these! I work hard to spend as little on groceries as I possibly can, but still buy healthy food for my family. From what I've seen in both my local grocery stores and at Target; Earth's Best is comparably priced to other major baby food brands. Coupons are also available on their website and in many parenting magazines.
Where can I buy Earth's Best foods?
Most major grocery stores, Target and health stores such as Whole Foods carry Earth's Best products. A store locator is located at www.earthsbest.com
