As I was doing my research, I came to the stunning conclusion that there isn't one place near to where I live that delivers organic foods. I've been to and called multiple businesses as well as searched various sites on the Internet. As you see, I am from the south and obviously people here don't see it as an option to deliver types of organic foods.
Although, there are quite a few places that sell organic vegetables and fruits. There are lots of farms in Spartanburg, SC and these farmers come together on a certain day of the week to sell their produce. We call these Farmer's Markets. One of these Markets is located in Downtown Spartanburg and is called the Hub City Farmer's Market. It is located at 298 Magnolia Street and they are open to the public every Saturday from June through November.
At Hub City you will find any type of produce you can imagine. It all is grown locally and organically. There are different types of beans as well as squash, watermelon, and strawberries. I am a huge fan of strawberries and the ones that I have gotten from Hub City have been absolutely delicious. I have also bought squash from Hub City, and it to I believe is some of the best I have purchased so far. Believe it or not, you can also find soy candles at Hub City as well as hand lotions. These are a popular hit with the more younger crowd of shoppers.
Another place I have found that sells all organic produce is The Hobo Hollar. It is located at 180 Abbott Lane in Spartanburg, SC. They also have various products including a southern favorite called Apple Butter. It is grown and made organically. They also provide boiled peanuts, which are also grown organically and then boiled in fresh water. Hobo Hollar is one of my favorite places to buy produce from. I love the taste of their fresh boiled peanuts, and I wouldn't buy them from anywhere else. They also have locally grown peaches and apples that are absolutely delicious.
So as it was quite hard and impossible for me to find a local business that delivers organic foods I did run across a few that just sell them. I am so glad that I could share with the world some of my favorite places to buy organics from. And hopefully in the future, Spartanburg will become a little more creative and offer a business that will deliver these as well.
