Organic Fresh Herb Pre-Washed Salad by Earthbound Farm Review
This Salad is Really Healthy and it Taste Really Healthy Too
The very first thing that I looked at with this pre-washed salad was its ingredients, as there were a lot of them. The Organic Fresh Herb Pre-Washed Salad by Earthbound Farm included the organic baby lettuces, red and green romaine, red and green oak leaf, lollo rosa and tango, organic red and green chard, organic mizuna, organic arugula, organic frisée, organic radicchio, organic parsley, organic dill and organic cilantro. I don't recall ever having a salad that contained dill, cilantro and parsley in it so I was very anxious to see how that tasted. I didn't recall any of those herbs being in the first pre-washed salad that I tried from this company, Organic Mixed Baby Greens Salad and I definitely didn't recall seeing it in the other salad I tried after that one, Organic Baby Lettuces Pre-Washed Salad.
The Organic Fresh Herb Pre-Washed Salad by Earthbound Farm was interesting to say the least. It had a very good taste but it was certainly healthy. I didn't find it disappointing and if anything thought that it was a fun new change. I wondered how all of these wonderful lettuces and herbs were going to translate into nutrition. Two cups of this salad contained fifteen calories, seventy milligrams of sodium, four grams of carbohydrates and two grams of both protein and fiber. I was very pleased about this and very pleased about the remaining nutrition facts listed in the minerals and vitamins portions. Vitamin A was listed with one hundred and twenty percent, vitamin C was listed with half of that, iron was listed with twenty percent and calcium was listed with eight percent. All in all I didn't have any complaints about the ingredients and nutrition facts of this salad.
I didn't have any complaints about the taste of the Organic Fresh Herb Pre-Washed Salad by Earthbound Farm either. Although, I would recommend using salad dressing on it if you are not a big fan of very healthy salads. One thing that I thought was a little disappointing for me was the price of this salad. While I understand that organic foods are going to be more expensive and convenient foods, like a pre-washed salad, are going to fall under that category of more expensive as well I was disappointed that it cost so much to eat so well. A five ounce plastic container of the Organic Fresh Herb Pre-Washed Salad by Earthbound Farm costs three dollars and twenty-eight cents. This is not such a bad price when you think about what you are getting but it doesn't fit well into my grocery budget. For this reason I don't see myself getting this pre-washed salad too often but I am certainly glad that I tried it, even if I only get it every once in a while. I am hopeful that it will eventually go on sale, that would be very nice. If you can afford to get it I would highly recommend the Organic Fresh Herb Pre-Washed Salad by Earthbound Farm to anyone. I would only suggest that you have salad dressing on hand just in case you need it to fully enjoy this salad.
