Knowing that garbanzo beans were an ingredient in humus I contemplated making some of it with the can of S & W Organic Garbanzo Beans. However in the end I ended up using the can of organic garbanzo beans in a cold bean salad. The salad was very good and the garbanzo beans were especially delightful. I really enjoyed their taste. Honestly I was surprised that the can of S & W Organic Garbanzo Beans tasted so good because it was very, very inexpensive. The can was only cost eighty-eight cents and contained about one and three-fourths cups of garbanzo beans. In a half of a cup of these organic garbanzo beans there was some nice nutrition, which I noticed when I read the nutrition facts.
I really had no idea what to expect when it came to the nutrition facts of garbanzo beans. Being a bean I assumed that they would have a nice amount of protein but because they are hardly a traditional bean I really didn't know what to expect. In a serving of a half of a cup of S & W Organic Garbanzo Beans there was one hundred and twenty calories with only fifteen calories from fat. Also in this amount there was three hundred and ninety milligrams of sodium, which made me wonder if their was added salt, fifteen grams of carbohydrates, three grams of fiber, five grams of sugars and six grams of protein. Sure enough the ingredients of the can were organic garbanzo beans, water, sugar and sea salt. Lastly on the nutrition facts, iron was listed with ten percent and calcium was listed with four percent.
I definitely plan on getting a can of S & W Organic Garbanzo Beans again. Having a can of garbanzo beans is something that I think would come in handy and so far this is the only can of organic garbanzo beans that I have seen. I would happily recommend for anyone to try these organic garbanzo beans, I certainly am glad that I did. I also tried some Organic Black Beans from the same company.
