Organic Greens Review: Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens

Although a Bit Pricey This Salad was Awesome

I decided to get some pre-washed salads to have on hand. I saw them many times at the grocery store and thought about how nice it would be to just have to open a container and pull out the needed amount of salad that I want for a meal. The first one that I got was the Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens by Earthbound Farm. I was very careful to select a container that contained nice looking leaves. The expiration date was about two weeks away so that made me feel good. From what I could tell all of the different leaves looked good so I added the item to my shopping cart and finished up my produce shopping.

When I got home I examined the Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens by Earthbound Farm even more. I saw that it listed all of its ingredients on the back. The salad contained the organic baby lettuces red and green romaine, red and green oak leaf, lollo rosa and tango, organic red and green chard, organic mizuna, organic arugula, organic frisée, organic radicchio. Honestly I didn't know what half of these leaves were but I was eager to try them out. I opened the Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens by Earthbound Farm and saw that the leaves were indeed in very good condition. I tasted a few random pieces. Now although I wasn't sure of what it was specifically that I was eating I could tell that there was a wide variety of tastes in the salad.

Now I don't want to make it sound like the salad tasted bad, because believe me it didn't, but I want to be clear in saying that there were some pieces that were a bit on the healthy tasting side. With salad dressing you don't even notice the such healthy taste and without I didn't mind these taste as I am a bit fan of the super healthy lettuces and such. I guess I should say that the Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens by Earthbound Farm is not for those who like to get an iceberg lettuce for its favorable taste. With all this healthy taste I couldn't wait to look at the nutrition facts. I am always happy to see that Earthbound Farm Organic items have the nutrition facts on the packaging and when they don't you can look it up on their website.

With the Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens by Earthbound Farm the nutrition facts were right on the container. The container contains about two cups worth of salad and in these two cups there are only fifteen calories with zero calories from fat. There is nothing added to the salad so the seventy milligrams of sodium in it is all natural. The salad also contains four grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fiber and one gram of protein and in the minerals and vitamins portion of the nutrition facts it listed vitamin A with one hundred and twenty percent, vitamin C with fifty percent, calcium with six percent and iron with twenty percent. I thought that these nutrition facts were awesome.

All around I don't really have any complaints about the Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens by Earthbound Farm. It is one hundred percent organic, super healthy, tastes great, comes in a recyclable container and is a product of the U.S. The only thing that I think will keep me from regularly getting it is the price. It is a little over three dollars for these two cups of salad. It certainly makes me enjoy every bite of the salad and I would recommend for anyone who enjoys healthy salads to try Pre-Washed Organic Mixed Baby Greens by Earthbound Farm out.
