Organic Honey Fiber Multigrain Cereal by Naturally Preferred

This Cereal was Very Good and I Am Glad that I Got It

It has been a while since I found myself scanning the cereal section of the grocery store. For a while I only was having store bought cereal but then I went back to making my own homemade granola. However, after coming across a box of cereal that I had never tried and that was on sale I decided to keep my eye out for more such cereals. The next time that I noticed yet another cereal that I had not tried it was thankfully on sale. For that reason I decided to try a box of Organic Honey Fiber Multigrain Cereal by Naturally Preferred.

I don't usually like to get cereals that have honey in the title because this often translates into them having a strong honey flavor, which I try to avoid. However I felt like I could use the excuse of not having tried the cereal to convince me to get it. Plus it was an excellent price for a box cereal that is organic, only two dollars and sixty-nine cents. Also, I have tried several other products from this company and I was confident that I would enjoy eating their cereal. Some of the other Naturally Preferred food items that I have tried include their Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce, Organic Blackberry Apple Sauce, Organic Roasted Garlic, Organic Italian Herb and Organic Tomato Basil pasta sauces, their Organic Semolina Spaghetti, Organic Whole Wheat Spaghetti, Organic Carrots and Organic Frozen Broccoli. I am not a huge fan of the taste of multigrain cereals but I am a huge fan of the nutrition that comes with them. Before even trying the cereal I read over the ingredients and nutrition facts.

The first ingredient listed for the Organic Honey Fiber Multigrain Cereal by Naturally Preferred is an organic grains and fiber blend made of whole wheat flour, wheat bran, malted barley flour, oat bran, oat flour, brown rice flour, amaranth flour, soy flour and corn flour. I am not sure which of the ingredients are organic as the box did not say but I hope that all of them are. The next ingredient on the box was organic sugar cane juice and organic unsulfured molasses, natural flavor, sea salt, organic honey, mixed tocopherol and ascorbic acid followed. The mixed tocopherol, or vitamin E, and ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, was used to help provide vitamins and preserve the cereal. In addition the following vitamins were listed, niacin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, thiamin, hydrochloride, folic acid and vitamin B12. I thought that these ingredients looked really, really good.

Next I looked over the nutrition facts that were on the box of Organic Honey Fiber Multigrain Cereal by Naturally Preferred. There were twelve servings in a box and each serving was three-fourths of a cup. In that serving size there is only one hundred calories with five calories from fat, There is one hundred and ten milligrams of sodium, twenty-four grams of carbohydrates, three grams of both protein and fiber and twice that for sugars in every serving. Also, the minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts listed vitamin C with sixty percent, calcium with two percent, iron with six percent, thiamin, vitamin B6, folate and vitamin B12 with fifteen percent and riboflavin and niacin were listed with ten percent. I didn't have any complaints about the nutrition facts either.

Now that all I needed to do was taste the Organic Honey Fiber Multigrain Cereal by Naturally Preferred so I made myself a bowl and gave it a try. I thought that it was very good. It was sweet enough that I wasn't thinking about how hearty the flakes were but amazingly did not have an overwhelming honey flavor to it. I was very, very pleased and at only twenty-two or twenty-three cents a serving I thought that the cereal was an excellent bargain. I will be inclined to get this cereal again if the sale continues after I am done with this first box. I would happily recommend to anyone to give the Organic Honey Fiber Multigrain Cereal by Naturally Preferred a try. It is healthy, made with organic ingredients and has a very nice taste. All in all I would say that it is a good multigrain cereal.
