Organic & Natural Food Shopping & Choices:
It's Cheaper & Easier Than You Thought to Shop Organic & Natural
For some the challenge faced in some capacity is availability depending upon ones place of residence and/or others are concerned about the over all economics. However, is it possible that this perception can also be a means of self-sabotage to our own ideal goals for health and well being and could it be easier than we are actually assuming as well?
The only way to realize answers is to question our own thinking and be willing to explore further and even be willing to be a little creative to achieve our own goals and ideals -in other words, be open to options and possibilities, sometimes thinking outside our own typical means of problem solving.
For some this seems uncomfortable and even scary or unsafe, believing that it is impossible for anything to be any different to be than the way their mind is telling them -"hopeless or a failure" if things aren't showing up in a certain way that fits "their way of thinking."
If the idea doesn't fit that box, than it is inconceivable and therefore even rejected, even if it allows them to achieve their goals and ideals; Ironic isn't it? But we do this to ourselves more often than we may realize -until we chose to become aware and open to our own thinking and behavior in order to make the change. It even starts with the things that seem simple enough, as shopping for the foods that support our goals -as this is where it is most likely to show up is in these type of events in life so we have a chance to take notice; our self sabotage, when it would become unconscious. Today is a new day and our opportunity to make that change now.
So we want to shop for natural and/or organic foods and see if we can do so, keeping it a bit more affordable -meeting our goals health wise, as well as respecting our budgets and not sending our "old programming" into self sabotaging mode. This is actually easier than you may realize.
First, when it comes to shopping for fruits and vegetables purchase what is in season, then it is always priced lower. It is also better for your body to digest and absorb the nutrients when the food you are eating is also being produced in season and without the chemicals to force growth that will harm your body. Fruits can be frozen in season and thus enjoyed later, as can some vegetables. You can also dehydrate fruits and vegetables purchased in season to retain their nutritional value and create wonderful meals for yourself. This is your opportunity to become creative for yourself and your family and enjoy the process, as well as good health.

The other thing to realize when it comes to purchasing fruit is that you can buy fruit with thick skins, which you intend to peel, and they will be lower in pesticides and also you will be spending less money on these.
When you shop for healthier products, shop on the outside isles of the store, this is where the healthier items are usually kept, such as fresh produce, natural and organic items, where as the further you travel inward is where the processed foods are and where you do not want to shop.
Remember, the more nutrition you body has, the fuller you feel and the less you eat in the long run -so the more money you save in spending in buying the food to try to "fill you up." Processed foods have additives and chemicals that tell your brain you need more, so you never feel you have enough, as well as they are depleted of nutritional value and also why they have to continuously try to enrich them or return more vitamins and minerals back into what is already stripped away. Its safer just to eat foods whole and natural to ensure you get what your body needs and you don't have to gorge on fake food and never really feel good and then become sick, your body unable to recover from colds, flues or illnesses -which is unnatural.
Some healthy snacks are organic raisins (you do want these organic, otherwise you are just eating dangerous pesticides -remembering raisins are dried grapes), Mashups (which is just fresh fruit mashed up as a squeeze drink) and also Larabars (fresh fruit and nuts).
A good time to shop is also on Sunday afternoon when the store is preparing to put new products and produce out and they want to clear their shelves of everything from the prior week. They will put clearance price tags on, so this is when you get your natural and organic products and really save big, including your healthy snacks, produce and all.

As you can see, anything is possible; just take one step at a time and appreciate what you can do, and then you will be less likely to sabotage your ideal goal for health and well being.
