Our pets truly are a wonderful part of the family. In fact we often can't imagine life without them. People who own pets tend to be much happier and live longer lives. They love us unconditionally and add so much to our lives. As more people start to take better care of themselves by eating organic food they are also taking better care of their pets by using herbal shampoos, feeding them organic pet food, and treating them with nontoxic toys.

Although not everyone can afford to give their pet every luxury available, but if possible it is best to at the very least feed your pet organic pet food. Many commercial pet food products on the market contain fillers, artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, chicken feathers, and other meat by products. Animals that eat organic nutrient fortified pet food actually have less waste, and tend to be healthier. Quality ingredients help your pet in so many ways. Pets that are fed high quality pet food have better digestion, more energy, and healthier skin and coat.

Here is a list of healthy pet foods, some of which are all organic, which you might want to try.

Health Benefits of owning a pet

When you own a pet you essentially have a committed friend for life. Your pet depends on your for food, affection and love. Taking care of another little creature helps to bring great joy to pet owners. More studies are starting to indicate how owning a pet can help to improve your health in many ways. People who have animals have a lower incidence of depression, high blood pressure, cancer and other health problems. It almost seems as if having a pet can help ward off disease. This may be because many diseases are linked to stress levels, and unhappy people. While that is not the case for everyone because genetics and other factors play a role at least owning a pet can help you to be happier, more content and stress free.
