This Soup Had a Gourmet Taste and I Really Enjoyed It

I never really have been a big fan of eating soup in the summertime unless I am sick with a cold. However I couldn't pass up a recent sale of some canned soups and I didn't want to wait until I was sick to eat them. Therefore for a while now I have been happily having a bowl of soup or two bowls of soup for lunch. When I make the soup I don't heat it up super hot and I have been enjoying these lunches very much. Not only are they saving me a ton of time and are offering me something new and interesting but I feel that I got some good ones that are even offering me some really good nutrition. One of the reason that I feel this is because I have been selecting organic ones and among them was a can of Wolfgang Puck Organic Thick Hearty Vegetable Soup.

I have had soups from the Wolfgang Puck company, even organic ones if I can remember correctly but I wasn't sure if any of them were the Organic Thick Hearty Vegetable Soup. As far as I could tell this was the first time that I was trying this particular soup. I liked the idea of it being a thick soup, I hoped that this would mean that there were many, many vegetables in it and that they would all be very, very good. The sale had each can of soup selling for two dollars. The cans actually contained about two cups of soup, or two servings, so for a dollar a bowl I thought that this sounded pretty good. Before adding the soup to my cart though I had to check to make sure that it was vegetarian. To my surprise there were a lot of ingredients listed. I was quite eager to get on with my shopping but I also didn't want to buy a can of soup that had meat in it or broth made with meat. Thus I took the time to read the ingredients while in the grocery store, thankfully the soup was in fact vegetarian.

Organic vegetable stock made of water, organic vegetables and organic concentrated vegetables that included organic carrots, celery, onions and tomatoes were the first ingredients listed. Following that was salt, organic autolyzed yeast paste, organic cane sugar, organic soy sauce made of water, organic soybean, salt and organic alcohol, organic maltodextrin, natural flavor, organic potato starch, autolyzed yeast extract, organic dried onions, organic dried garlic and organic spice which also made up the vegetable stock in the Wolfgang Puck Organic Thick Hearty Vegetable Soup. Next on the list of ingredients for Wolfgang Puck Organic Thick Hearty Vegetable Soup was organic tomatoes with organic tomato juice, calcium chloride and citric acid, organic roasted potatoes with calcium chloride, organic carrots, organic onions, organic corn, organic peas, organic butter made of organic cream from organic milk and natural salt and organic potato starch. Lastly on the list of ingredients there was two percent or less of organic celery, organic green beans, organic cabbage, organic barley, organic tomato paste, organic evaporated cane juice and organic spice. After reading all this I was quite excited about trying the soup.

Not wanting to take anymore time on this soup I waited until later in the day before reading the nutrition facts of the soup. In a cup of the Wolfgang Puck Organic Thick Hearty Vegetable Soup there was one hundred and thirty calories with forty-five calories from fat. The soup contained ten milligrams of cholesterol and six hundred and ninety milligrams of sodium for a serving size of one cup as well as nineteen grams of carbohydrates, four grams of fiber, three grams of protein and seven grams of sugars. In the minerals and vitamins section of the Wolfgang Puck Organic Thick Hearty Vegetable Soup's nutrition facts there was forty-five percent listed for vitamin A, six percent for calcium and four percent for iron. Knowing the ingredient and good nutrition facts that the soup offered I made it happily. I thought that the broth had a lot of really good flavor and all of the vegetables and pasta in the soup were at a good cooking texture. Nothing was too mushy or anything and there was a good amount of everything in the vegetable soup. The broth was very well seasoned and I was inspired to make my own organic soup with the aid of some of the ingredients mentioned for this vegetable soup. I was glad that I got this vegetable soup, as it certainly had a gourmet kind of taste and would recommend for anyone to try it. I enjoyed this soup more than Wolfgang Puck Organic Thick Hearty Lentil and Vegetables Soup, which I have also tried. This vegetable soup offers some good nutrition, has a delicious taste, isn't a bad price when you can find it on sale and has some wonderful organic ingredients used in it.
