Organic Strawberries from California Giant Review

These Strawberries Were Inexpensive and Tasted Really Good.

Anyone who knows anything about what kinds of fruits that I like knows that I absolutely love strawberries. I prefer to get organic strawberries as they are one of the worst foods that you can eat when they are not organic. For this reason I am not getting them every time I see them in the store but I did get strawberries a few times throughout the Summer. I know for sure that I got them at least three times this Summer because I tried out three separate brands. The three brands that I tried out were Driscoll's Organic Strawberries, Well-Pict Berries Organic Strawberries and most recently California Giant Organic Strawberries. Here is what I thought about the newest organic strawberries that I have tried.

I have seen organic strawberries priced three and a half dollars and three dollars all through the Summer, this is with them on sale too. This is part of the reason that despite loving them I got so few throughout the Summer. I was amazed to see that the Organic Strawberries from California Giant were only two dollars and forty-eight cents for a pound of organic strawberries. I didn't think that I would be seeing this kind of price again nor did I think that I would be seeing organic strawberries much longer this Summer and so I decided to get them. From what I could tell I needed to be pretty selective about the container that I chose. I hate to knock strawberries but I could tell that there were some strawberries in the containers that were not all that great looking. After some careful examining I found a container that I thought looked like it had nearly all very nice looking strawberries. Just to be sure that these strawberries were not a waste I used nearly half of them after bringing them home.

We have been having banana smoothies and I thought that the Organic Strawberries from California Giant would be a great additional ingredient. It would add a new flavor to the smoothie, turn it a fun color and allow us to use a good portion of the organic strawberries and enjoy them too. After opening the containers I was glad to see that there was really only one strawberry that needed some trimming done to it. I was very glad that I was so choosy about picking a good container because it really paid off. In addition to looking good the organic strawberries tasted very good too. All around they were a very nice find. I did wonder about the company though and so I searched them on the internet. From what I found the company had a website, but it focused on their non-organic division. Here they had nutrition facts for their non-organic strawberries, which I assumed would be not as good as their organic strawberries but I read them anyway.

One of the many pros to eating organic fruits is that they are healthy because the soil they are growing in is healthier. That is why I am confident in saying that the nutrition facts found on this site are not as good as what their Organic Strawberries from California Giant provide. Basically the site said that in a cup of their non-organic strawberries there was fifty calories with no calories from fat. This cup of non-organic strawberries also contains one hundred and seventy milligrams of potassium, eleven grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fiber, eight grams of sugars and one gram of protein. Also it was stated that both calcium and iron were listed with two percent and vitamin C was listed with one hundred and sixty percent. I am not sure how much being organic makes these strawberry's nutrition facts differ but I am sure that they are better. All in all I was very glad to get these strawberries, enjoyed them very much and would recommend them.
