Approximately 29 miles from Roanoke, this turkey farm is located at 4510 Castile Road, Covington, VA 24426. The turkeys that live on this farm are fed 100% vegetarian feed and are allowed to live cage free and feed upon the grass of the pasture. They are not given any hormones or antibiotics.

This small farm is located on the James River in Natural Bridge, Virginia and is approximately 29 miles from Roanoke. The physical and mailing address is 631 James River Road, Natural Bridge, VA 24579.

The turkeys that occupy this farm are not administered any antibiotics or added hormones, are grass fed and given a 100% vegetarian feed supplement, are pasture raised, and are allowed to live cage free. Tender Grass Farm

The turkeys that reside on this farm are pasture raised, free to roam, antibiotic free, hormone free, and biodynamic. All of the animals that live on the farm are constantly moved to fresh pasture and live a peaceful life.

Tender Grass has a farm store that is open Monday through Saturday from 12pm-6pm or by appointment. It is closed on Sunday.

Weathertop Farm

Approximately 25 miles from Roanoke, this family owned and operated farm is located at 963 Eanes Road NE, Check, VA 24072. Cedric and Sarah Shannon, the farm's owners, are known for their humane treatment and high standards of care for the animals that live on the farm.

All of the resident turkeys of Weathertop Farm are pasture raised, cage free, and grass fed with 100% vegetarian feed used as a supplement. They are not given any added hormones or antibiotics. Their feed is obtained from a local mill that uses mostly grains from local producers. These well-loved turkeys are available in October and November for sale. October turkeys range in weight from 8-12 lbs. while the November turkeys are from 15-20 lbs. Each turkey is priced at $2.80 a pound.
