They feed on the sap found inside plants stems and leaves. As we move toward a greener lifestyle, it is important to find organic pest control methods to get rid of aphids.

It is a little known fact that simply picking an aphid off a plant and squashing will repel other aphids. The odor released seems to warn other aphids to stay away. This organic pest control method to get rid of aphid garden bugs is time consuming but very effective.

Aphids have a few natural predators. Releasing some into your garden environment is an excellent way to get rid of aphids and other garden bugs. Mixing a mild dish detergent and tepid water together makes is an excellent way to get rid of aphids. Put the organic pest control mixture in a spray bottle and spray directly on the garden bugs. A mixture of crushed onions and vinegar is another natural way to get rid of aphids. Used much like the soapy garden spray described above, it is an organic pest control method to get rid of aphids and other garden bugs in your garden.

Finally, consider planting companion plants in your garden as organic pest control. Plant aphid discouraging plants like garlic, onions, chives and mint next to plants, like roses, that garden bugs love. Not only will the companion plants act as a natural barrier to the garden bug aphid, the herbs can be used for cooking. What more could you ask from organic pest control.

Make sure to use only organic pest control methods to get rid of aphids and other garden bugs in your garden. Not only are the methods effective and environmental friendly they are inexpensive and easy on your pocket book as well. Taking the time to mix up a natural aphid repellent or to plant a companion plant are easy ways to get rid of aphids and other garden bugs.
