Organic Yogurt Review: Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Plain Yogurt

Even Though I Don't Usually Care for Yogurt I Really Enjoyed This Yogurt

It has been a good while since I bought yogurt. When I was pregnant with my son, over two years ago, I bought and ate it for the nutrition that came with it but I never really have been a big fan of the taste or texture of yogurt. However recently I have been thinking about getting some for my son to try. If I could find some that was organic and healthy he might really like it. I found a thirty-two ounce container for only two dollars and seventy-nine cents. I don't know how this compares to non-organic yogurt but I was happy with the price. The container was of Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Plain Yogurt. I didn't plan on having a lot of the yogurt but I certainly planned on trying it.

At the time I had some Organic Blueberries from Rainier Fruit and Organic Strawberries from California Giant on hand. I thought that the Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Plain Yogurt would taste better with some of these berries cut into so when I made myself a little bowl I diced up some strawberries to go in with it as well as added some blueberries. To my surprise I actually was really enjoying the yogurt. I have had different brands, some organic and some non-organic, of yogurt all my life and some of them are much better than others. This whole milk organic plain yogurt was one of the best that I had tried. The flavor was very good for being a plain yogurt and the fruit jazzed it up just enough that I was actually looking forward to having a second helping.

The next day I actually found myself craving the Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Plain Yogurt once again, which led me to believe that my body was trying to tell me something. For what ever reasons my body felt like it needed the nutrition that the organic whole milk plain yogurt was offering. While I ate the yogurt I looked over the nutrition facts on the container. In on cup of the organic yogurt there was one hundred and thirty calories with fifty calories from fat. This serving size of yogurt offered eight whole grams of protein, eleven grams of carbohydrates and twelve grams of sugars. I was surprised to learn that this yogurt contained twenty-five milligrams of cholesterol and one hundred and twenty-five milligrams of sodium in every serving. Lastly the nutrition facts listed vitamin A with six percent, vitamin C with four percent and calcium with twenty-five percent. Next I looked over the ingredients.

The ingredients of Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Plain Yogurt are organic whole milk, organic nonfat milk powder, L. acidophilus, S. themophilus, L. bulgaricus, L. casei, L. rhamnosus and B. bifidum cultures. I couldn't tell you a lot about the ingredients in this yogurt but I was happy to see that on the container they were displayed their ingredients in nice big bold and proud letters. Not far from the ingredients I noticed the sentence, "This sturdy HDPE#2 container can be reused again and again and again . . . and then recyled. Under that were the three words, reduce, reuse and rethink. I couldn't have agreed more with the yogurt container and loved that also on the container was what looked like an empty list and above it the words "what I am reusing this container for." As for the nutrition facts and ingredients, I thought that they were pretty great too.

All around I was happily surprised and pleased with the Nancy's Organic Whole Milk Plain Yogurt. I will definitely be getting it again and I might even try out some of the other yogurt varieties that the company offers. I would recommend to anyone to give this whole milk plain yogurt a taste. Even if you are not crazy about plain yogurt you might still enjoy it, I know that I unexpectedly did.
