Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Self Heating Coconut Hair Oil Review

The Pen
I had seen an article about an Organix Coconut deep conditioning treatment that was sold at drugstores, but when I went to a CVS Pharmacy to buy it they didn't carry it. When I saw the Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Self Heating Coconut Oil for $6.99 I bought it because I thought it would be like a hot oil treatment. I'm African American and I wear my hair natural so I'm always looking out for products that will moisturize it.

The Self Heating Coconut Oil comes in a 4oz white and brass colored bottle with a small pump that reminds me of a moisturizer for the face. Organix claims that the coconut oil and milk self heats to heal, moisturize, strengthen, and nourish the hair while adding elasticity, while the white egg proteins are supposed to hydrate and add balance. Organix also states that the organic active ingredients heals and is all you need for moist, smooth, and seductive hair.

There were a lot of claims but all I hoped for was more moisture, so I tried it out a few days later. I pumped the Coconut Milk Oil in my hands, rubbed them together to activate the heat and then applied it to my freshly shampooed coarse strands.

It smelled sweet and tropical, and I was surprised that the Nourishing Coconut Oil didn't feel oily at all. It was more like a serum, so it didn't feel heavy or oily on my strands. They just felt smoother and somewhat moisturized when I first applied it. But when I rinsed it out, my tresses felt different, almost harder. I hate when products make my hair feel hard and unnatural so I expected the worse when I began to style my hair.

But as I began to comb through it I found that it wasn't hard at all, it was actually smooth. My hair is super thick, kinky textured and coarse so it's usually very frizzy and hard to untangle. But the Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Self Heating Coconut Oil made it feel so smooth and manageable.

It was like 90% of the frizz in disappeared so I was able to comb and style my hair a lot faster because it wasn't as big and bulky as it normally is. My hair also felt much silkier, it was like the Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Oil had sealed my hair's cuticles so it felt much more relaxed and less high strung. My curls and kinks didn't shrink as much as they normally do and were shinier and more elastic and pliable.

I styled my hair in a twist-out and once my hair dried it was so soft and fluffy and less frizzy than it's ever been, and it stayed that way for a week. I couldn't stop touching it.

The only thing that I didn't like about the Organix oil is that Organix tries to make it seem like they're an organic hair care line, but the only organic ingredients in the Nourishing Self Heating Oil are the coconut oil and milk, the rest of them are mainly chemicals.

In the End...Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Self Heating Coconut Oil is amazing. It made my coarse strands feel amazing, softer and silkier than it does naturally. I'm not sure if it's a treatment that will make my hair healthier through continued use but I'll definitely be using this weekly to style my hair wet and I'd love to use it whenever I want to straighten it, because I think it will help to keep it sleek and frizz-free. This is my new favorite product. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a good review. My hair is very fine and limp, but I think I'll try this anyway.

I bought this hoping to help my daughters hair. she has blonde coarse hair, that strangly curls beautifully underneath but the top layers are straight as a board. I use this after we wash and conditioner her hair and leave it in. So far it has helped tremendously in controling the coarseness! And makes drying her hair to straighten out the underneath curls so much easier!
