Organized Move: Avoid Moving Hassles

Moving is such an exciting time! It is also a complicated time. The rush of excitement is mixed with many other emotions such as worry and stress. If a family does not take certain steps to organize their moving experience things could get quite chaotic. This is an article to help you make your movie easier. Doing so will increase the excitement and decrease the stress of moving to your new home.

First let me start by saying congratulations on your new home! What a wonderful thing a move can be. Moving is a busy time. The home you are moving from contains all of your everything. The more members of your family there are the more stuff there is to move. Each member of the family will have their own personal belongings. Many items in your home that will need to come along with you are not specifically belonging to one member of the family. These items belong to the whole family. Things like furniture, and appliances. Movies and entertainment center items also belong to the entire family, as do kitchen and several bathroom items. As if that isn't enough stuff to move there's more! Your home also has it's belongings. Decorating items, wall hangings, curtains, and such also need to come along in order to make your new home your home.

Packing is a key element in having a successful move. So is getting all that stuff from point A to point B. Once you start you'll really realize just how much you own. You'll also find things you remember having but haven't used in a while. Let them go. You'll likely also find things you haven't seen in years, didn't know you had, or things that belong to other people that have been left by them or borrowed. Give the borrowed items back and let the rest go. Either throw the stuff away, sell it in a moving yard sale, put it along side the road for free, or what have you. Either way if it's not something that you need or use often then let it go.

You'll want to use either boxes or bags. You can go to your local stores and ask them for boxes. Moving companies also sell them but why buy them when you can get them for free? Garbage bags work well when used for clothes, toys, stuffed animals, fabrics, or anything else soft and without hard corners. Boxes are great for books, movies, dishes, and everything else that can't go into a bag. Boxes and bags fit together nicely in the moving truck as well. You don't lose space. You can move more on one trip. More fits into the truck.

Get your boxes and bags ready and get packing! Your new home awaits you. Don't do it all yourself. Move together as a family. Each member of the family should be responsible for packing his or her own belongings. The household and family items should be packed together, working as a team. The same goes for unpacking as well.

Speaking of unpacking...There is a way to make it organized and easy. The trick is that unpacking is a lot easier when the bags and boxes are labeled. All you do is read the label and then you instantly know where to put it in your new home.

It is definitely easier to move a short distance than it is a long distance. Moving trucks hold a lot but still we made three trips when we moved. When you're moving a long distance you only get on trip unless you plan on going all the way back. The reason for letting the unnecessary items go is so that you'll be able to bring all of the things that are necessary.

Once you are all packed and the truck is loaded it's time to make the move. Drive carefully with full loads. Take your time. When you arrive at your new home each member grabs and goes. They take their belongings to their new rooms. Everything is labeled so it is simple. The whole family works together to make the new home function. Entertainment centers get put back together. Things get arranged and put where they belong. Your home is more that just the place where you live. Part of what makes your home your home is the stuff that is in it. You'll see once you've unpacked that you've set your home up. Many things remain just as they've always been. Have a wonderful move and take care!
