Organizing a Christmas Lights Tour

Terra Husser Farrell

Easy ways to make your Christmas Lights tour enjoyable - First I would decide where you want to go, if you have a map of your city plan a loop from your house and back. Look at the map and find the neighborhoods that you want to go to and pick a route. You can also go to this website and find a route in or around your city. www.tackylightstour.com

~ Get a group of friends together and make a tour train we do this every year with several friends. All you have to do is decide where you want to go. You can either find this information through some of your city websites or by sight neighborhoods that had big ones last year often will have them again,

~ Make a trip out of it, plan on taking a container of hot chocolate with you and dress warm you may want to get out and look at them. Find interesting facts while looking play a game try to figure out how many lights are on display.

~ Make your own contest between the people that are going choose houses that get first second third place and so on. It will be a conversation starter and everyone likes a little bit of competition of opinion.

~Looking at lights is a great way of ending Christmas eve activities. If you have children with you make sure that you keep them involved and entertained. Make a big fuss out of the best looking houses these will be memories that will last forever.

~ Often during the holidays newspapers and magazines will have listings of the neighborhoods with the best lights make sure and check them out you never know what could be bigger and better this year.

~ Go through downtown, a lot of the buildings will have a Christmas theme to them you and a lot of cities have lighting ceremonies and activities around the holidays.

~ Make sure to take along some Christmas music to listen to it will get you in the Christmas spirit. Enjoy yourself and remember not to put to much pressure on it things like this are supposed to be fun and memorable.
