7 Budget Friendly Ideas to Get Organized

Buying closet organization systems, shelving, and storage bins can be a huge expense in trying to organize your home. Fortunately, you don't need to spend a lot of money to get organized. There are plenty of affordable storage solutions that can make it easy for you finding the items you need and making sure you're making the most of your available space. If you're looking for a way to organize your life without spending a lot of money on expensive shelving, these tips below will help:

1. Sell Your Stuff: Instead of spending money you can make money! Selling your items is as easy as putting it up for sale on an online auction site or listing it in a free online classifieds site. Not only will it help you clear out more space to use, you'll be able to increase your overall savings and budget.

2. Preserve Memories: If you have a lot of things that really have no purpose but have sentimental value such as trophies, awards, baby clothes, trinkets, and other items, see if there is a way you can condense them and put them to good use. For example, one thing some people do with baby clothes is have them turned into a quilt. This keeps the memories and gives you something you can actually use instead of it sitting in the closet going unused. Another neat idea is to take pictures of these items and keep it organized in an album. This way you'll have the memory and can then recycle or donate the item and reclaim your space.

3. Reuse What You Have: You might be surprised how the items in your home can find new life and turn into storage solutions. For example, an old trunk in the basement can be transformed into a seat in the living room for storing board games or books. Sometimes just moving furniture into another room and using it a different way can help you find a better and more efficient system of keeping your things in the right place.

4. Save Your Boxes: There are endless possibilities of things you can do with boxes that you get from the things that you buy and use every day. Small boxes and containers can be recycled into drawer dividers, and larger boxes can be decorated and used for storing other larger items. An egg carton can be used for organizing small craft items or jewelry.

5. Hang It: Many people do not utilize their available wall space as much as they could. Hooks are very inexpensive compared to shelving and work excellent for everything from displaying your favorite collection of items in a prominent place to coats and hats in a laundry room.

6. Utilize Door Space: Doors can be another place to save money and storage space. An over the door hanger can be bought for less than $10 and be used for everything from holding bathroom health and beauty items to storing kid's toys. You can also use them on the back of closet doors as well for organizing your closet.

7. Lift Your Bed Off the Floor: You can find a lot of additional space by lifting your bed off the floor a few more inches using furniture risers or use concrete blocks like they do in college dorms. It's a great way to make more space for extra linens or out of season clothes. Getting organized does not mean having to spend a lot of money on closet storage systems or other items. You can start living a more simplified life by following these tips - and save a lot of money too!

You don't have to spend a lot of money to get your home organized. With a little creativity you'll be amazed at how much space you can make!.
