"American Horror Story" was so popular that it was quickly picked up for a second season. However, things in Season 2 look set to be a lot different than they were in Season 1. Ryan Murphy has explained that we will be leaving the Harmon family behind and moving forwards to something new. Another of his revelations was that they will be recasting some of the original stars into new roles. While this would be a big mistake for some of the actors, there are a few who could easily be given a different part to play. Here are four original "American Horror Story" cast members who could take on a new character without upsetting the fans.
Mena Suvari
The creators of the show would be crazy not to let Mena Suvari have a bigger, more prominent role in Season 2. Mena played Elizabeth Short, otherwise known as the Black Dahlia. While her character was very memorable, she was never one of the bigger players in the murder house. Suvari is a fabulous actress, and would make a perfect leading lady. Another reason to give her more screen time is that, if she returned to her trademark blonde hair, it would be easy to separate the new character from the old.
Teddy Sears
Teddy Sears played one half of the gay couple who lived in the murder house before the Harmon family. He and his boyfriend Chad (Zachary Quinto) had a turbulent relationship, and both were brutally murdered by Tate (Evan Peters). Sears is a good-looking guy, and no television show is complete without a little eye candy!
Denis O'Hare
When O'Hare portrayed the love crazed Larry Harvey, his face was horribly disfigured due to Tate setting him on fire. Denis gave an epic performance as the guy whose love for Constance never died, in spite of her continuous rejections. The part he played was important, but not so crucial that viewers would be annoyed if he came back as someone else. He would certainly look different without his scars too.
Alexandra Breckenridge
Young Moira was Alexandra Breckenridge's original character. She was the temptress who lured men into bed with no concern about whether or not they were married. In fact, she seemed to prefer it if there was a bit of a challenge involved! Even though she appeared throughout most of the first season, she would be a fantastic addition to the new cast. Perhaps she could play a more timid, introverted character next time around!
