Orlando, Florida: My Favorite Vacation Destination

My Favorite Vacation

I am not a worldly traveler but I must say that visiting Orlando, Florida was the best vacation that I have ever experienced. I enjoyed the city so much that my family and I went there 4 summers in a row for a week long stay at our timeshare. Yes, it was very hot and humid. Yes, it did rain a lot. Yes, it was very expensive. But the experience was truly amazing.

Orlando is a very family friendly city with youth and adult activities. My family enjoyed the Disney theme parks as well as the Universal theme parks and even Sea World. We took advantage of multi-day passes which we discovered on-line which allowed us to visit the theme parks for more than one visit at a discounted price. We would usually arrive at the theme parks around noon after eating a large breakfast and stayed until closing which ranged between 10 PM and 12 AM. The lines were lengthy for the rides and attractions but that became basically the norm which you quickly got accustomed to. The excitement and enjoyment of the theme parks outweighed the exhaustive waiting in lines.

Additionally besides the theme parks, my family enjoyed the variety of eating establishments as well as the shopping malls. Between visiting the sites of Orlando, we relaxed at our time share by lounging around the pool which was definitely a necessity between theme park visits. It was not advisable to spend back to back complete days at theme parks because it would be too tiring. We even took a one hour freeway ride to Daytona Beach and visited the very famous Daytona Racetrack. We watched race cars speed around the track and also took a shuttle tour of the track. We chose not to ride in an actual race car because of the price which was about $125. Cape Canaveral, the site of many Space Shuttle launches, was also about an hour away. For avid golf lovers like my husband, there were numerous golf courses scattered around the city mostly located in the resort areas. For the adult night life, there were many clubs open into the wee hours of the morning.

So pack your suitcase, make the final ATM visit, do not forget the rain poncho, and journey to Orlando for the most memorable and best vacation ever.
