Family Friendly Hotels Away from Orlando's Theme Parks

Heather de Winter
Kids of all ages dream about magical vacations to Orlando but seldom think farther than Mickey Mouse and Harry Potter. While theme parks are the ultimate attractions in Central Florida, families have lots of options when it comes to kid friendly resorts. With everything from water slides to sports to kiddie spa treatments, Orlando resorts have really raised the bar for family vacations.

Orlando World Center Marriott Resort

The "most kid friendly hotel in Orlando" is on the mark with their self-proclaimed title. The Orlando World Center Resort features six swimming pools replete with supervised water slides, water falls and a wading pool for the little ones. Poolside face painting and hula hooping is the norm for the younger set while sun drenched manicures and sports are available for teens.

Book the Family Ties Escape Package for an upgraded room, VIP access to the March of the Peabody Ducks as well as food and drink discounts.

Nickelodeon Suites Resort

The Nickelodeon resort features seven water slides, climbing nets and water jets, mini-golf, basketball, live interactive shows and poolside entertainment. The best part of your kids' stay will surely be the mass sliming that happens each day at 4:45. And let's face it, today's parents were the first generation to get hooked on the green slime phenomenon so don't feel guilty about wanting to get in on the fun.
