Orlando's Best Local Music Venues

Here in Orlando we have terrific music venues in Hard Rock Live and House of Blues, which mainly cater to national and international touring acts. From time to time they also feature local Orlando musicians, giving those bands an opportunity to showcase on the large stage with access to massive banks of lights and state of the art sound systems, but they aren't the only game in town for local live music venues.

One of the best is The Social in downtown Orlando. It's an intimate venue with capacity of about 350-400 people and plays host to a variety of genres, with not only some of the best local music acts on the schedule, they also bring in many international and national bands. Lighting and sound are pretty good for such a small place. The stage occupies the space along one long wall so there is usually more than enough room for even the most active bands to spread their wings. The Social has a doorway leading to the newest downtown live music venue, the newly renovated Beacham Theater. The Social is located at 54 North Orange Ave, Orlando.

The BackBooth is another popular downtown live music venue. It has a pub like atmosphere with a capacity of only 350, but the stage is large enough for most bands. They have a bar in front and in back, and also a balcony section for enjoying shows. They not only have shows from local acts, but national and regional bands as well. The club also hosts dance parties. The BackBooth is located at 37 West Pine Street, Orlando.

Wall Street Plaza is another one of my favorite Orlando live music venues, also located downtown. It's actually a short street blocked off to traffic ringed by eight restaurants/lounges. Some of the individual bars feature live music on a regular basis, but for special events a stage is put at one end of the plaza (or for bigger events - stages are put at both ends) turning Wall Street Plaza into one big live music party zone. Wall Street Plaza is located at 19 North Orange Ave, Orlando.

There are many other notable live venues in Orlando to enjoy. The Plaza Live Theatre, Firestone Live, Will's Pub, McRaney's Tavern, and The Haven just to name a few. Live music can be found every night in Orlando!
