The Orlimar Golf Fury QB Driver is a far cry from what Orlimar had with their shallow faced Tri Metal woods, but as with every other company in the golf business, you need to change with the times. It's square club head shape gives a lot of forgiveness to the golfer, while It's Titanium club head gives it the distance they are looking for also. High quality Aldila shafts and Golf Pride grips make the new Fury QB a solid club from grip to head and can be found for around $200 at most on line and brick and mortar stores!
I'll admit, I am not much of a fan of the funny shaped heads, weather they be square or triangular, but I will attest that they are straighter. The QB Fury goes to the extreme in perimeter weighting and with the added mass straight back from the toe and heel areas, this club resists the need to open or shut on off center hits as good as any other square head out on the market today. Add to that and the components that they put in the club as listed above really make this a solid mid range investment for the average golfer to flock to.
I hit some very good shots with this club, and for the money, I would rather see my customers pick this club up than a $400-$500 driver with the same features. Like most drivers in this category, I hit a lot of high and straight bombs down the middle of the fairway. The shaft felt good in my hands, and the club was fairly responsive when I wanted to draw or fade it. I was able to hit draws more easily than fades, and this is what I expected. For the average golfer who wants something better than what they can get at Wal-Mart but not spend thousands of dollars on a set, I would look into the new Orlimar Golf.
I will be writing several more reviews on their equipment as the week goes on. Stay tuned!
