There is a proper role for police
In a free society. We see:
Barricades, metal detectors,
Police, military soldiers,
(At times, dogs!) ID badges required
For every move,
Vehicles checked at airports
And throughout.

But worse yet, surveillance are everywhere
To ensure our safety.
Activity near the Brooklyn Bridge
Is, for instance,
Destroying that national landmark.
These days, in the age of automated cars,
It may be your vehicle that is spying on you.
Hong Kong's dog murderer is on the loose.
