Orwellian Dreams Have Become Todays Reality

Checkpoints, interrogations, strip-searches, training the people to spy on each other, guilty until proven innocent. Tele-screens located in public places, playing a video message encouraging People to spy on each other and report "suspicious activity" to law enforcement. It is a George Orwell fantasy come true. This type of totalitarian Society is what made 1940's Nazi Germany possible. This results in a total takeover of society. Encouraging people to become informants for the government against their neighbors is big step towards becoming a militarized police state. It creates a climate of fear and mistrust of one another.

What kind of Government would engage in this type of Unbelievable behavior ? Well let's take a look back at Nazi Germany. The Government not only encouraged citizens to spy on each other but in some cases provided rewards for it. We all know that because of this betrayal of citizen against citizen a reign of terror swept across Europe. Millions were slaughtered at the hands of this government.

So what does this have to do with now and with America? Does this sound familiar? fingerprint scans at amusement parks, bag searches at train stations, pat downs at stadiums and concert arenas, camera surveillance on street corners and other public places, and, most recently, Invasive "enhanced Security pat downs and whole body imaging scanners in airports. But wait there is more....

Americans have increasingly been targeted for government surveillance . Treated as suspects, we have had our phone calls tapped and our letters and emails monitored by government agents.

It has been announced by Wal-mart spokesperson Dan Fogelman that the Homeland Security Department will be placing Videos at the checkout stands encouraging shoppers to watch for suspicious behavior by others and report it to the authorities. It does not define what suspicious behavior is.
