Osama Bin Laden Killed in Pakistan

It is a glorious day in the world for all people of all faith who shunned the atrocities masterminded by Osama Bin Laden in September 2001. The Al Qaeda leader is reportedly dead following a takeout by US armed forces. According to CNN, Bin Laden had apparently been living freely in Pakistan, not hiding in mountains and caves of Afghanistan as had been reported. He apparently lived in a million dollar mansion with no internet or other technological services, which led to suspicions that something is amiss here.

On live TV on CNN, president Obama confirmed the report, evoking the images of destruction caused by Bin Laden's followers. President Obama recalls "empty seats at dinner tables, children who were forced to grow up without their mothers or fathers, parents who will never know the feeling of their child's embrace," and other images of "hijacked planes and sky filled with "black smoke billowing up in the Pentagon" to show the magnitude of Bin Laden's attack on families and thus the importance of his apparent demise. Mr. president stated that "the death of Bin Laden marks the greatest achievement in our nation's history in the effort to defeat Al Qaeda," but also warns that the battle is not yet over, as there are perhaps various Al Qaeda quarters throughout the world.

It is incredible to see people rejoice in front of the White House as well as at Ground Zero even though it is late at night. Nearly 3,000 lives of men, women, and children were lost because of this man. I feel the joy and pain of those who lost loved ones; I know that Bin Laden's death will never bring back their loved ones, but at least they can begin to heal their wounded hearts knowing that the mastermind behind their loss is no more!

I personally commend President Obama for courageously and persistently undertaking the steps to capture Osama. In only two and half years in office, he was able to order such operation that is successful as this. Kudos! Bravo! And to the United States Armed Forces: kudos! Bravo! Now I hope that those whose sons and daughters have been fighting the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq can finally get a break. It's time they get some rest and begin to end all these senseless deaths of innocent people on all sides.

God bless the world, and bless all those in it who love and fight for freedom, justice, and peace!
