Osama Bin Laden Movie in the Works (Forget WikiLeaks!)

Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow is already working on an Osama bin Laden movie, so she's got to be relieved to have her ending with the terrorist's recent death.

If movie fans think that "The Social Network" or the recently announced WikiLeaks movie are a big deal, it's hard to imagine the sensation that Kathryn Bigelow's movie with the working title "Kill Bin Laden" (that will definitely have to be changed now) will cause when it hits theaters. Like "The Social Network," the movie will be very timely, and now that the death of bin Laden will provide it with a patriotic ending, it's going to really draw droves of Americans to movie theaters.

Kathryn Bigelow previously won over plenty of fans with her movie "The Hurt Locker," and it's safe to say that no one that saw the Best Picture winner will question her ability to portray soldiers in Iraq. Her movie "Kill Bin Laden" was originally going to focus on a previous unsuccessful attempt to hunt Osama bin Laden down, but recent news definitely will force the director to change direction (and give the movie a happier ending).

The big question about the movie is just how much it will focus on Osama bin Laden -- word is that it isn't specifically about the terrorist, so it might take a similar approach to "The Hurt Locker"and focus on fleshing out the soldiers tracking him down. Plus it will be interesting to see if she chooses to focus on America by depicting the fall of the twin towers, something previously touched on by Oliver Stone in the movie "World Trade Center."

Luckily Kathryn Bigelow and her team have just begun preparing for this movie, so there's definitely time for her to change up the ending. And it's definitely going to be interesting to see who gets cast in two very important roles -- Osama bin Laden and the soldier that fires the shot that kills him.
