Osama Death Photo 'Will Likely Be Released', Says CIA Director Panetta

The Osama Bin Laden death photo "will probably be released at some point", says CIA Director Leon Panetta. This updated information came late Tuesday, according to Jane Valez-Mitchell of CNN Headline News, who read the quote on air. The question is, when exactly is "at some point"? After nearly ten years, how much longer do we need to wait to see Osama Bin Laden death photos?

Osama Bin Laden Dead: Photos To Be Released 'At Some Point'

Pictures of Osama Bin Laden's dead body have yet to be shown to the American people, though some members of Congress have and reportedly described them to CNN as "incredibly graphic". Bin Laden was reportedly shot twice; once in the chest and once in the head. The head shot made impact near one of his eyes.

Not everyone thinks we should see the gruesome pictures of Osama's body. In fact, one very vocal NFL player is in no rush to celebrate the death of any man, even Osama Bin Laden. (This particular player also thinks the 9/11 conspiracy theorist nuts are really on to something.) However, a quick Facebook poll we conducted as news first broke of Bin Laden's death during the raid in Pakistan on Sunday concludes more people want to see the death photos than do not.

Some of those folks apparently can't wait for the real thing, because fake Osama death photos surfaced almost immediately. You can see the hoax picture here, side by side with the real photo it was crafted from. It isn't hard to tell how fake it is, but it doesn't leave much to the imagination of what the real thing might look like. For some, taking a peek at even a mocked-up Osama death photo might be a bit like rattling a present before unwrapping it on Christmas morning. So, rattle away if you like, but hopefully we'll have the real thing soon!
