Osama Dons the Rearch Lab Coat: He Talks About Climate Change and Global Warming
For Once He Ducks Behind Science to Justify His Use of Religion for Protecting World's Largest Opium Fields
That is the only way for them to escape from capital punishment for dealing in drugs.
Osama is using the cover of religion to hide his involvement with drugs.
And he is not the first one to use "cover ups" for that.
Even Alexander the Great was given that "garb of greatness" by his supporters to cover up why he forayed far into the Afghan wilderness through the treacherous mountain passes of the east.
Alexander would have never ventured further east had the opium growing tribals of Afghanistan surrendered meekly. But that never occurred. The tribals put up the fiercest fight and the deadliest mauling ever faced by Alexander. Stationed on higher elevations, they had the strategic advantage despite his war preparations.
But the prevalent European wisdom of that time made sure that his original intention and "defeat at the hands of puny tribals" will be covered up by highlighting his victories only.
Remember Alexander never made it back alive to Macedonia. He never was ready for the ferocity with which the tribals protected their opium fields.
As recent videos from the Afghanistan show that was their livelihood for centuries and because of their aloofness from outside world, they don't find anything wrong with it.
If history is not wrong, the fate of Alexander will be the fate of Osama. But it can be worse, as the latter is trying to use religion as a ploy to cover up his efforts to control world's opium trade.
Osama's father made money in a comparatively decent way by bidding and winning the contracts for Saudi Arabia's first highways. But Osama wanted to make money faster and in dubious ways. A worthy father's son found the worst avenue for doing that - usurp the control of world's opium fields to himself.
Only one problem, his own religion had prescribed summary trial and capital punishment for drug dealers. That meant he will have to fight the established groups of his own country and face sure death. Osama circumvented that by escaping from his own country to some of the poorest regions of the world.
Then he adorned the "artificial" garb of a highly religious man and started issuing edicts as if he was self-styled Ayatollah. His religious facade endeared himself to unemployed youths of his religion.
That was easy because most Islamic nations are ruled by authoritarian regimes and economic inequalities abound in the general population. Thus his recruitment of young guys through misinformation and misguidance became easy.
What more convenient for a cover up than the garb of religion?
But Osama has done irreparable damage to his own religion by using it as a cover up to escape capital punishment prescribed by his own holy books.
So naturally I was amused by the way Osama suddenly made a volte-face and used non-religious "phony concerns" about climate change and global warming and blamed USA for that this time.
He exhorted the world to bring "the wheels of the American economy" to a halt by boycotting American goods and the U.S. dollar.
So that is an open admission that:
His use of "religion" to cover up his drug business involvement has so far failed to halt the the American economy despite his endless exhortations to do so in the past, not to forget his own involvement in 9/11.
If he is really that much worried about humanity:
He should stop misguiding and then sacrificing young supporters for protecting his drug deals. He should stop maligning his own religion for amassing such ill-gotten wealth unlike his father.
No young man at birth is destined to be incarcerated in foreign prisons or get killed because some people want to misuse religion to make money in drugs.
May be his realization that he can no more use a religious garb led him to foray into scientific areas like climate change and global warming.
But that may not be enough to prevent the sword from falling on his own neck for breaking his own religion's rules on drug peddling.
