Oscar Mayer Sandwich Combo is a Healthy Lunch with Only 390 Calories

I was lucky enough to receive a coupon for a free Oscar Mayer Sandwich Combo. I went into Publix supermarket, and chose the Turkey & Cheddar one.

It comes in a clear plastic container, with a wrapper around the middle. The first thing I noticed was that it only had 390 calories. I looked through the clear plastic, but it was easier to see the lunch on the cardboard.

There was a picture of a flat bread sandwich, a Jell-O Sugar Free Mousse Temptations, and a packet of White Thins Original. The net weight of the combo was 6.6 ounce (187 g). I believe the retail price was $3.79, but I got mine for free.

I knew that this wouldn't be enough for Len's appetite, so I waited until he went on a seminar, and I took it as a packed lunch, for Treasure Island beach.

I came off the beach, and headed to the picnic area. I took my Oscar Mayer Sandwich Combos Oven Roasted Turkey & Cheddar out of the cold box.

I took the cardboard packaging off, and then the clear film that sealed it. I had a wheat thin sandwich bun, three slices of turkey, a thick slice of cheddar cheese, and a sachet of Gray Poupon Dijon mustard. Each one was individually wrapped, so I opened them up, and made my sandwich. I did take two slices of tomato, because I always like to have a salad item in my sandwich.

The sandwich was really good. The combination of the turkey, cheese, mustard, and the wheat bun worked well together.

While eating this I opened up the small packet of Wheat Thins Snacks. They were good, but didn't excite me, like Salt & Vinegar potato chips would. That's me wanting to eat the wrong food, for a healthy lunch.

I had a red plastic spoon provided for the Jell-O sugar free mousse temptations, in the chocolate flavor. I love anything chocolate, and to my surprise it tasted good. Normally everything that is sugar free leaves me with an aftertaste.

I drank a bottle of water with my lunch.

This meal was plenty for me, even though I had walked 16,000 steps on the beach. I think it is great for an older child, say from 10 upwards, or for someone with a small appetite.

Oscar Mayer Sandwich Combos have a place in my fridge. I won't be using them often, but when it is only me for lunch, and I am away from home, this is a perfect meal. It will stop me from going to a fast food burger place, and having more calories, in just one burger.
